Compression testing dilemma by Dangermouse
Compression testing needs to be carried out with the engine warmed up and with all plugs out... but... ....the plugs should only be removed when the heads are cold, or I risk damaging the threads. Maybe I'm being overcautious here but what's the correct procedure?

Could somebody tell me please, or point me towards an appropriate reference, where a 1964 Type 2 1500 motor (engine code O566079) in combination with its stock distributor (Bosch ZV/JU4R3) should be timed at? Should it be at 7.5 or 10 degrees? Thanks folks.
