Can/ Should one buy radiators online? by
Duke of Hazard
Our 1991 Civic's hatchback needs a new radiator. Is this something we
can buy online instead of getting from dealer to save some $$? I would
think we would have to know exactly the part number and such, but I
doubt we can find it out so easily, or can we?

they can also be very dangerous. Here are some basic precautions to
help you enjoy your time at the beach:
Do:

plastic screws and tool for them? by
ll
Does anyone know if there is a special tool to pop those 'inset'
plastic 'screws' that are used to anchor lightweight objects to the
under-hood area (e.g. windshield wiper reservoir, radiator
reservoir)? They are actually in two pieces: the 'screw' or 'insert'
that drives into the 'collar'. I...

Jeep, Mercedes diesel engine. by
J J
I read in the paper that Jeep is going to offer an optional diesel
engine. It will cost about $2700. Mercedes diesel engines can last
well over 300,000 miles.
Surprised that other US companies haven't offered a mercedes engine
option.

replacement alternator pulley? by
Nate Nagel[_2_]
I'm using a Delco 10SI alternator on my '55 Stude, it often squeals the
belt on startup or when revving the engine quickly. I was messing with
the pulleys today (adding a crank pulley for A/C, which I finally
located) and noticed that the issue appears to be the alternator itself
- I can feel...

Trailer Towing Q's by
ray
I just got a new 18 foot car hauler, so I don't have to rent one anymore
for my race car, and was wondering a couple of things:
"Levelness" of the trailer - how important is this? My truck isn't
jacked up, but I sure had to lift the front end pretty high on the
trailer to get it mounted. Of...

Squeal Diagnosis Help by
herman
I am not too good with electrical stuff.
Dodge 318 motor; either belts or alternator is squealing on startup.
Squeal is very loud and intermittent. When squeal is happening,
alternator gauge bottoms at full charge, then when gauge returns to more
normal setting, squeal goes away. IOW:...

I had my Impala's catalytic converter clog up on me. When this
happened it took out my Plenum, and a few other parts. GM will refusue
to pay for anything other then the converter, however I was able to
get my money back using other methods from GM. All $1400 in repairs
GM's BIG mistake cost me, is...

I have a 1997 Jeep Wrangler SE 2.5L. I had the air intake pieces off
and noticed that a hose was not really connected to a valve stem on
the engine and it was more or less just laying against in. I have
uploaded the picture in hope someone could identify what the valve is
and how it should be...

How to ensure top and bottom halves of thrust washer are aligned? by
HiC
Beginning to put this 7MGE Toyota engine together, looking at the
factory manual - the only instructions as far as installing the
bearing caps, which includes the thrust washers on #4 is "install
bearing caps", and then advises to check end play.
However, none of these caps have any way to...

1998 Ranger Heater Core Replacement How to. by
B.B.
The worst happened the other night. Driving to HEB, turned on the
heat, and POP! Antifreeze mist all over the windshield. Crap. I do
NOT like having parts of my truck disabled, tied off, or otherwise.
Especially when they explode.
The core was $60 at my favorite Ford dealer. They...

Lug Nut Thread Galling by
Paul Hovnanian P.E.
I've been experiencing some problems with lug nuts on a '97 Toyota
Landcruiser seizing. The end result is that I shear off the occasional
stud when attempting to remove a nut. I've been careful about checking
the nuts' torque, but this doesn't seem to help.
The nuts, studs and axle are steel but...
