This Moderator/Admin, "PJSaturn", had a personal vendetta on me. I recently proposed moving "Neutral" from between Reverse & Drive on Automatic transaxle vehicles, a good conversation ensued, no name calling, no insulte, and next thing you know the thread is closed and I'm suspended for ten...

How many miles can I get out of Ford Tempo by [email protected]
Mine was awesome as far as I had no problems, just changed the oil and regular maintenance but be careful turning, mine rolled head over heels, not sure if something broke as I was turning, but I've read this is a issue.

2008 Lexus Rx 350 rack and pinion steering boot by delvon daily
2008 Lexus Rx 350 150k miles https://ibb.co/Z8RW7bZ The mechanics who did my oil change found that the rack and pinion boot of my car was torn and recommended to replace it. They said it'll cost $1,500 to replace the steering. I don't feel any problem with steerings. Can you advice me on my...

Cracked Block Probability by [email protected]
I won't remember the details clearly by my '70 chevy lost a "freeze plug" in the winter 'cuz my antifreeze measure was faulty. I do remember desperately pouring water in, that had ice in it. The miracle was somebody telling of a shop that would fix it. I drove, stopping every mile or so when it...

Cracked Block Probability by [email protected]
Hi, reading your post years later lol. I have cracked a block by pouring cold water into a non running engine while it was hot (not just normal operating temperature) I had refilled this engine hot multiple times before, while running, no problem..... This time I shut it off, waited for the...

Tire Pressure Gauges - Analog Vs. Digital by [email protected]
Tire Pressure Gauges - Analog Vs. Digital The purpose of my inquiry, after two months of experience with two digital tire gauges, is not to find out which brands of gauge are better than others, but rather, to find out which type(dial face vs digital) you feel: 1. Consistently gives the same...

Wal-Mart Auto Tire Scam by [email protected]
I'd like to let people know about a fraudulent automobile tire scam going on at Wal-Mart Tire and Lube Express stores. Wal-Mart has agreements with tire manufacturers such as Goodyear and Michelin/Uniroyal/Goodrich (same company) to exclusively sell certain tires from these manufacturers. These...

OK to eliminate the PCV valve? by j
I am not a mechanic, but this is in regards to a 1994 Chevrolet Corsica with a 6 cylinder engine that has 138,000 miles on it, is still in very good condition, and has always had Mobil 1 synthetic oil. It is my contention that the PCV valve, on an engine this old, is likely to decrease the engine...

Torque Wrench Safety Question by [email protected]
I recently bought a torque wrench - the modern shaft collar design, 20-150ft lb torque, and the appropriate size six point sockets for the lugnuts on mine and my wife's cars. I recently loosened and re-torqued my wife's wheel lugnuts to spec, or maybe 1lb over, but what was really scary was how...

removing radiator stop leak by [email protected]
A friend put in stop leak and now the heater core is blocked. Unfortunately it is much harder to replace than radiator or thermostat (which seem to be okay anyway). He put some detergent in the coolant and reversed the hoses, which achieved nothing. Look through other forums, I see various...

Stop AC vent from changing positions by Andy
My AC vents change positions rather easily which changes where the air blows. I am looking for ideas on how to stop it. I thought about using vaseline in the circle area, but my cars gets to 140 degrees in the sun. https://imgur.com/a/m8f9nuy

hI aLL! what lateral g-force can old cars achieve? by longtrennguoi
A modern vanilla sedan can do 0.9 g, maybe more with good tyres. I saw a video on Youtube of some guy fitting a triangulated 4-link suspension to some chrome-bumper car, and managed to get 0.52 g on cornering, which seems rather poor. Must have had sh*t tyres. Sorry, I haven't been able to find it...

does anybody besides Audi use the trapezoidal rear suspension? by [email protected]
I stopped to help a little old lady with a flat tyre. She was driving an Audi, and I found the independent rear suspension to be quite interesting. Searching, I can only find SEAT (also part of VW) with it. But theirs (on FWD ****box) looks like a cheaper implementation of the Audi setup.

Roof problems on renault megane cabriolet by Karmann[_1_]
I have a 2002 megane cabriolet, had a flat battery on Monday and had to manually close it. Now the hatch on the boot won't open again electrically to be able to open the roof. Renault say once the manual strap is back in it should open. Any ideas anyone?
