Studdable vs studded or how-do-we-cope-in-minnessotta by
AD[_2_]
I've noticed none of the tires offered on tirerack are factory
studded.
Is that tirerack specific or you could not get factory studded tires
in the US of A?
A ploy to keep hakkapeliitta 7 out of the US is suspected :)

2006 A4 2.0T - Accessories ignition switch position by
Wayne Moses
Hello All,
Just got the subject vehicle this week and am still learning all about
it -- it is my first Audi / German car, so the quirks are still new to
me.
One thing I can't figure out is how to switch the radio on with the
switch in some sort of "Acc" position. Seems to me that the car has...

1995 90 rear bearings by
Bill[_7_]
What is the trick to removing the rear wheel bearings? 12ton press does not
begin to press it out.
Was able to press the hub out. Just not the bearing.
Torch to me, is the last resort.

Synthetic oil by
bill
All,
First, sorry for the cross post, but I regularly read both, and would like
to get opinions from both groups.
What I'm looking for is a good, independent comparison of synthetic oils.
Being a believer that anything can be proven if you go in with the "right"
attitude, I usually discount...

New tyres best on rear wheels? by
Alex
I will be getting two new tyres for my 2000 A3, as the front wheels treads
are wearing. A friend said that new tyres are best on the rear wheels (even
irrespective of whether FWD or RWD). Is this true or a myth?
Cheers

Audi TT Quattro Steering Wheel Vibration at 70 - 85mph by
Mick
Hi,
When I first felt this I thought it would be down to the wheels not being
balanced correctly, but I know this is normally at 50 - 60 and goes when
reaching 70mph. I've never owned a 4x4 so is it at 70 - 85? or is something
else completley wrong with the car?
TIA,

Crazy Car Alarm '99.5 A4 1.8T by
Dan
Anybody aware of an alternate location for a switch to turn off the theft
alarm internal sensor? My manual says such a switch exists in the doorwell,
in case you keep pets in the car or something. But my 99.5 A4 1.8T does not
have a switch where the manual says there should be.
The alarm goes...

Kleen Wheels? by
Thundersmash
My '99 Audi A6 Quattro generates a significant amount of brake dust .. has
anyone used products like Kleen Wheels:
http://www.kleenwheels.com/
to deal with this? I'm curious about opinions on whether this is safe and
effective.
Thanks!

A4 Aircon smels on startup by
Monkeys
Over the last few days, when getting back into the car and starting up I'm
getting a nasty smell from the blowers. It clears in about 30 secs, but is
getting worse each time. Note the smell only starts after the fans start
up, so it's not something in the cabin.
What with the recent hot weather...

Coolant level going down very slowly by
Jorge Fonyat
A4 2.8 1996 - 46,000Km
Coolant is slowly decreasing. About 1 month from max to min.
No leaks, smokes or smells.
Temperature - oil & coolant - Ok.
Curiously, when I topped the coolant to Max I noticed a few hours
later some coolant in the floor. (engine cold - not turned on in any
moment)

My A4 vs my old Passat by
JJ
I had a 99 Passat 1.8 turbo 5 speed. I always rationalized it that I got a
car that was the same as the A4 without paying for the 4 rings. Am I wrong?
My 2003 Audi A4 seems to be soooo much more vehicle than my old VW.

How do I remove scratches from the windscreen? by
Daz N
Hi,
On the left hand side (right hand drive car) of my windscreen is a scratch
that's been done by the end of the wipe blade, it's about 2-3" long and
about 1" wide, looks a bit like some sandpaper has been caught under the
wiper blade.
Is there a product on the market that will let me polish...

I just bought a 03 A4 1.8 Q 5spd. A guy at work said...."why in the HELL did
you drop all that coin for that anemic thing, when you could have got a

Mileage per tank?? by
Daz N
Hi,
I recently changed my BMW 330ci for an A4 Avant 1.9TDi, after a few short
months I've decided I don't get on with diesel engines so I've now swapped
this for an A4 Avant 3.0 Quattro Sport.
Question is how many miles should I aim to get from a tank of fuel,
obviously it depends on driving...

Importing from Europe to UK by
Graham
Hi,
I'm interested in the new 2 litre TDI A3 with DSG but getting a used one is
proving nigh on impossible (hardly surprising I suppose considering how new
they are). So I was thinking of buying a new one but the prices in the UK
are still a bit on the high side for me. Is importing one still...
