Advice needed replacing A3 brakerotors and strut mounts. by
[email protected]
I just took my '98 Jetta TDI (w/ 87k miles) to Firestone for a
maintenance inspection to get my annual PA state inspection sticker
(after getting cited yesterday for it being expired). They denied
passing my vehicle and found (surprise, surprise...) that the
following needed immediate...

Tip Chip - taking the plunge... by
Mike Smith
I am in the process of making up my mind to get a Tip-chip for my '03
Passat V6. (I'd kinda like to get out of warranty, but sometimes the
slow shifting really annoys me.) Problem is, I'd rather not give up my
car for the two or three days it takes to send in the ECU, have it
modded, and get it...

FREE: A2 Parts in MD by
Craig Faison
Seeing the other post free parts reminded me that I have some crap...
I mean, highly valuable parts sitting around that I'd like to get rid of.
If my memory is correct, I have a white sunroof from an A2 Jetta with all
parts (tracks, crank, etc.), a 16v downpipe and all door glass from an...

lol
I consider the VW Fox the NEWER Fox and the Audi Fox (VW Dasher/Passat) the
older Fox)
I guess the 1988 VW Fox is older than the 1993 Fox though! ;-)

I am about to replace a coolant pump on VW Passat 91 (the early 91

Since I'll be taking the belts off I am also thinking to replace some
of them since the whole thing will be apart. What other belts/may be

2000 Cabrio Driver's Window Weatherstripping Question by
Jose R. Perez
It seems the weatherstripping in my Cabrio's driver's window may need to
be replaced. When I close the door, the rubber seal of the top of the
window bends inward from the window instead of folding and then falling
over the window after the door is closed like I think it is supposed to
do. I can...

Engine coolant light by
Peter
Hello,
I have a Volkswagen Jetta (about 3 years old, 36k miles) and the engine
collant warning light comes on every morning (it's standing on a flat
driveway) - when I drive a couple minutes and restart the car the light is
off.
The coolant level is over the minimum level (I got it refilled) but...

TDI in California? by
Joseph Oberlander
I vaguely remember that there were a few months or maybe a year or
two where they were allowing them to be sold in California, but
the local dealership is either brain-dead or playing dumb.
I'd like to get a Jetta TDI if I could, but I need to know what
years to search for. I just paid $2.59 a...

98 Jetta: timing belt question-non-interference?/transmission fluid question by
Ben867-5309
Hi,
I have a 1998 vw jetta gl 2.0 auto w/49,000 miles.
Am I correct that this is a non-interference engine? Also, when is a
good time to get the timing belt replaced? I looked at the 1998
maintenance schedule and it said to just check the condition every
40k, and it's fine but when is the proper...

Oil In Intake by
Kent
I disassembled my intake system today to check for air leaks, as my car has
been idling a bit rough. I was surprised to find a good deal of oil coating
the inside of the intake plumbing up to at least the throttle body, with oil
on the air flow sensor plate and saturating one side of the air filter...
