Rust on Alfa 147 by
Ballymoney
I purchased a second hand 2001Y 147 1.6TS Lusso approx 8 months ago from
Dixons Motors in Leeds. This came with a 1 years Dixons warantee. However,
I have just noticed rust at the bottom the rear door near the wheel arch. I
took it into Alfa who told me this must be because the previous owner...

Alfa GT "ticking" climate control by
Grahame
Hi All,
Just took delivery of a new Alfa GT (Stromboli Grey, Black Alfatex, 17"
spoked Alloys) - beautiful car, very pleased with it.
One odd thing though, when the climate control system is on, there is an
audible "ticking" noise (sounds like an old grandfather clock) coming from
behind the...

GTV 97( P ) by
Steve Kerwin
Following 12 months of short trips to work & back my GTV sounds much more
like a Transit van, than the beautiful sports coupe I bought a couple of
years ago.
Any ideas as to the immense rattle the engine makes?

More Knocking noises on a 2.5 V6 156 (subtle ones) by
S.J. Ewen
I read the post from David about a definite knocking noise from the front of
his car. Not so sure I'm suffering from the same thing. Whatever it is,
it's very subtle (quiet), sounds like it's related to road speed rather
than engine speed, comes from the front passenger side (seems like that...

164 oil consumption question by
Emjay
Hello folks,
I guess this has been asked here before, but here goes....
I approximate the oil consumption of my 2.0 TS 164 to be about 1 litre
for every 900 miles.
The car has done 94000 so far, and is otherwise in good condition. It
doesnt appear to blow smoke of any sort, and runs well. I'm...

UK dealer margins? by
PhilipS
Hi, anyone out there with tradelinks care to spill the beans on what
the UK dealer margin is on new Alfas. Specifically I'm thinking of
the GT, but would be interested if it differs across the range.
The continental dealer I bought my personal import 147 off in 2001
gave me 7% discount, and has...

alarm setting without key by
NC
All,
I have a 1999(T) 156 1.8TS.
According to the manual, if I exit the car, lock the door with the key
(using the lock, not the remote button), the alarm should arm in 30secs
(if I remember correctly). However, this does not happen - any ideas why
not ? The reason I ask is that, of the 2 red keys...

156 Quiet Tyre reccomendation - UK by
Steve P
Hi, after some thoughts on the best tyre for a 156.
Model 156 TS 2.0 Lusso so its on a 15 inch rim, specifically a 205/60 R15 V
tyre. Currently shod with Goodyear NCT5 which seem to have become very noisy
as they have worn.
Main criteria is noise, I want a quiet tyre. Yes I know it's an Alfa and...

Ballymoney
I have a 2001 147 1.6TS Lusso and am experiencing problems with the gear

smoothly changing from 2nd to 3rd, 4th to 5th, and 5th to 3rd or 4th it
feels like i really have to push/pull the gear stick over. Is anyone else
experienceing...
