Hot MX5 by Mike
Now that it's really hot here in PA our 2006 MX5 dashboard vents put out a lot of hot air. With dashboard vents in the Open mode and the fan speed on low, the air coming out of the vents is pretty warm even when cruising at high speed. With the fan off its bearable. Any suggestions? Is there...

UK Mazda 3 Sport battery draining. by Invisible Man
Our 2002 MX-5 used to get a flat battery if not driven regularly. Fixed by getting a battery conditioner. Our 2004 3 Sport suffers from a flat battery unless it gets regular long journeys. Does not seem to be a problem if we turn the alarm off. Last week the car was used for about 10 3mile...

?? For Those Using Battery Maintainers?? by Jazz_Azz
Do y'all find that using it only during the cold winter months is adequate, pulling it off during warmer spring/summer/first part of fall months. Or once you begin using it, do you just leave it hooked up year round??? TIA

Seeking Mechanic by [email protected]
Hi All: I have a 1994 Miata that I've had for the past 10 years. Ownership of this car has been fabulous because it just about never gave me an ounce of trouble... until last month. Last month I spent close to $1000 on a tune up, new calipers, and a catalytic converter. Then this past Saturday my...

HELP! Transmission / Clutch by Chris D'Agnolo
All the sudden my car doesn't want to shift into reverse! I've had very little problem with this in the past. An occasional; put it in first and nudge forward, then go back into reverse ok but, I thought that was pretty normal. It hasn't been doing it allot lately but when I got home tonight and...

Finding the jacking points on an NB with body cladding by [email protected]
I've always felt the silver-gray body cladding on my 2003 Shinsen edition looked nice, but it's apparently going to be a bit of a hindrance to jacking the car up. For one thing, it seems unlikely I'm going to be able to use Lanny's trick of lifting one whole side with a jack and a grooved 2x4,...

Underpanel opinions? by XS11E[_3_]
Any opinions on this: http://store.miataparts.org/mibealunpa19.html I have the original plastic/cardboard/regurgitated-compressed-yakfat thingy which is pretty well shredded. I'm sure I can find better uses for $200 such as a couple of gallons of gasoline but...... -- XS11E, Killing all posts...

NB Timing Belt life by Chris D'Agnolo
I know the standard stuff, scheduled replacement @ 60k, but non-interference so, why not go to 90k, it probably still won't break. Well, I'm nearing 90k and I know I'm going to have to do this but, can anybody tell me of an NB timing belt that DID actually break and at what mileage it...

MSM 4 Sale by Chris D'Agnolo
Window (monitor?) shopping and came across what I consider to be a great deal on an 04 north of Houston (Conroe, TX). Only six thousand miles for $15.6k. It's Titanium (the only acceptable 04 MSM color ;-) with cloth interior. Check it out on autotrader.com if interested. I wish I could go get...

Stalling Issue by [email protected]
I have a 92 Miata with almost 90k miles. The engine stalls sometimes when I engage the clutch and put the shifter into 1st gear. If I leave the shifter in neutral then no problem. Sometimes the engine doesn't stall but rpms drop very low but when I take the shifter out of 1st gear then back to...

Cam Position Sensor by Scott Hughes[_2_]
My cam postion sensor just died on my 94 (~185k mi). My mechanic (Howard at the Sports Car Center for the STL locals) said this is the first he's ever replaced on a Miata (and he works on lots of Miatas). He called me later in the day after I got the car down there (1st tow in 10 years) and...

How to complain to Mazda UK ? by Invisible Man
Hello Anyone know the best way to complain to Mazda UK? We had a 2002 MX-5 1.8 for 5 years that was great and never had any problems. Same with our 2004 Mazda 3 Sport. We recommended Mazda to loads of friends and relatives Since March however we have had a new MX-5 Coupé 2.0.

Can't up shift during tight turn by G. Mack
I was over at Buttonwillow Raceway last weekend with my stock 96 Miata. Going around Offramp clockwise, I enter the turn in 2nd gear, but by the end of this increasing radius sweeper, I was hitting the rev limited. I tried to up shift to 3rd, but the shifter won't go into 3rd. It feels like...

Totalled Mazdaspeed on ebay by Chris D'Agnolo
It's really not that bad either. Front end damage. They claim the engine even still runs fine. Interior (leather) and everything on back are great. It's the grey color 04 and the wheels look real good too. At a $4500 'buy now' price it's tempting! Anybody here interested check this...
