Yeah. The price they charge for new cars is *highly* engineered....
Seriously, Toyota and Honda build very solid *engines*, no question.
But Honda automatic transmissions are the dregs of the industry,

Serpentine Belt replacement? by
Nino Nospam
I have a 2003 Honda CR-V, with 64,000kms on it. The belt indicator shows
that it's close to replacement time. Is it hard to do? Do I need any
special tools? Do I have to remove the passenger wheel? Where do I find a
belt routing guide? Do I need a OEM belt or will a generic belt...

Tegger's latest oil consumption by
Tegger
Over the last 979.3 miles... 2,500 miles per quart.
Since I started getting really scientific about it, it seems as though I
may have earlier been mistaken about my car's excessive oil usage.
So far (in miles):
296,919 to 297,919 - 2,500 mi/qt
298,032 to 299,032 - 2,175 mi/qt
299,493 to 300,472...

Remove air intake duct?? by
[email protected]
I am new to this board and have a question.
My Honda Accord 1997 Owner's Manual tells me to:
"1. Open the hood. If you need to change the headlight bulb on the
passenger side, remove the radiator reserve tank and the air intake
duct."
Okay, so I look in the owner's manual and it doesn't tell...

CR-V -- rattling sounds when turning at slow speeds by
Ignoramus14720
Our '1999 Honda CR-V makes rattling sounds when I try to turn it
sharply at slow speeds. This applies to turning both ways, right and
left, but to slightly different extent.
What would be a likely issue? I would prefer to go to a dealer after
becoming somewhat informed.

Brian
Hi -
I am trying to replace the right side axle half-shaft, and can't get the
spindle nut loose. I applied approximately 700 ft-lb torque - can't break
it loose. There are no visible threads - I am hoping it is a right-hand
thread? Any suggestions to get it loose? I am almost lifting the wheel...
