Something not related to that one guy. by
Trey
So, to change subjects, I got a free vw today. 71 std. someone was going
to make a back half trailer out of it, so its cut almost in half. All that
wasnt cut was about 2 inches of the tunnel. You should have seen the roof
flapping in the wind going down the interstate at 75 mph. I had to...

VW beetle. by
[email protected]
Today, when I went to the Lowe's store, I saw an old VW beetle car
pulling out of the parking lot.I think it was a 1962 or 1963 model. It
was being driven by an elderly gentleman.Good to see those aircooled VWs
are still getting around.

Ignition Switch by
John[_28_]
Had to replace the Ignition Sw on my T3 a few years back. Had
intermittent problems since then I was never able to isolate and certainly
didnt suspect the new switch. By the time I started looking the symptom had
vanished only to manifest somewhere else.. After trying to start her after a
week...

BAP rebuilds by
[email protected][_1_]
Yeah, they suck. Of course BAP has been out of the rebuild(in my case
probably just re-assemble) business for about 8 years now. My current
engine was built by an inept fool in 1996. I did not install said
engine in the car, I acquired the car with said engine.
So....while I had the engine out to...

Another distributor question... by
Skip 66KG Lawson[_2_]
How difficult should it be to remove the distributor?
I have received all of the parts needed to make my distributor all new
and spiffy, but I can't get the thing off the car. I have removed the
hold down bracket nut (recall that we had determined it was the
incorrect bracket) but I still cant...

Got flaps? by
[email protected][_1_]
Had to pull the engine out of the super beetle again tonight. Working
alone it took me one hour twenty minutes to pull the engine out, get
it out from under the car, and take it apart. Alternator, less than
500 miles on it, noisy rear bearing.
Anyway...the reason I am posting..I need the cooling...

Oversized oil sumps... by
Skip 66KG Lawson[_2_]
Hey,
Wow, you guys are gonna be tired of me before this is over. I live in
San Diego, and it gets pretty hot here. I have seen the oversized oil
sump products that add 1.5 or more quarts to your lube system. I
understand the cooling effect of this, but am curious as to whether
anyone thinks...

77 FI sort of starts won't run by
No Name
This car hasn't run in 15 years. I have replaced fuel lines and cleaned
injectors, replaced the double relay etc. etc. last night I tried to start
it and lo and behold it came to life. I ran it for a while and drove it back
and forth in the driveway. Today it won't run. It will start a bit but...

Stretched Exhaust Valves by
\Harry Smith\
Hi gang,
You might remember me posting about this a few months ago, when I said
I probably wouldn't get back to it for a few months... Today I'm glad
to say I've gotten back to it. The car in question is a '74 standard
Beetle, "customized" by a previous owner, with a generic Mexican
replacement...

What is the size for the metal fuel line that runs through the frame? This
is on a 77 factory FI Bug.
Does it matter if it's bigger diameter?

Pertronix ignition upgrade... by
Skip 66KG Lawson[_2_]
Ok, now that we have determined that the problem with the distributor
hold down will require that I pull the distributor out, I am wondering
if I should go ahead and upgrade the ignition with the Pertronix Ignitor
product while I have the thing out.
Have you guys had any experience with this...
