Service+MOT Suggestions for Rugby-area? by Neil
My 3-year old 156 is up for it's first MOT and also needs a service. Went to Poweralfa in Daventry last year for a 24000/24-month service who charged me £300 for what largely amounted to an oil change and Jon letting me use his modded 180hp (cor!) 145 for the day. Despite this he is local and am...

147 front air dam plastic strip by Jake P
The black plastic strip under my 147's front air dam (the bit that hits all the speed bumps) has become almost totally disconnected and is now only just hanging on. Anybody know what a dealer would charge to supply and fit a new one? Cheers Jake

Need Help by Scott Chandler
Let me begin by explaining to you my request. In September of 2003 I was diagnosed as having testicular cancer. Having no insurance I decided I would just do what i could to save myself. Long story short, I am at this time cancer free, but $30,000 in debt. I do not know where else to turn except to...

Interesting Discussion with a friend by SteveH
'BMWs are more reliable than Alfas' So, why is it that my brother had a new engine under warranty from BMW for his 3-series (Nikasil bores didn't agree with unleaded petrol), a knackered gearbox and totally fsked top end on his 5-series, when I can abuse my 15 year old 75 with 120k miles on it...

front suspension vibration by John Tresadern
I have a 2001 156 1.8TS. When cold, there is a nasty vibrating sound coming from the front offside suspension around the area of the engine compartment bulkhead. It seems to go away once you get going. What is the likely cause of this - worn suspension bushes? It seems to happen even when standing...

Alfa SZ? by Ppelectron
I've just seen a really pretty looking Alfa, which I believe was an SZ, (after a quick search on the Internet for pics). Very sporty looking car with 3 headlights on each side and a nice sounding engine. Anyone on here got one? Are they rare / expensive? Any idea how much they sell for? I could...

Paint Damage on 156 by Torey
What you are most likely experiencing is the result of indusrial fallout (IFO) or rail dust. The most common sources are emmissions from Factories (Auto MFG), Rail Dust from the trains that trans. the vehicles. or Brake Dust. that attaches itself to the surface (+)(-) attraction. Once on...

166 Flat battery by david_dance
According to the handbook, trickle charging the battery or starting via jump leads should only be carried out by "authorised AR services". Is this strictly necessary? The battery is not completely dead, but will not turn the starter motor over.

Air Con by Tom Boltwood
This might seem like a bit of a daft idea, but I love my car and don't particularly want to change it. However, the only thing it doesn't have that I really would like is air con. Is it feasible to get air con retrofitted, or get parts of a scrap 164 Lusso? or is it just too expensive to be worth...

Turbo on 164 if possible by Yoeri Gemeen
Hi guys, Could it be possible to put a turbo on the 164 3.0 V6 (183pk). Since they have made turbo models etc ... I know it would be quitte an operation, but I'm willing to take that risk. If this is possible, where can I find information and much more of it. Maybe someone can give me the plans or...
