Hesitant 1972 Bay by
Gareth Edwards
Recently started having this problem with my Bay 1600cc. It is very
hesitant at low revs, and even if I put my foot down or pump the throttle a

Once the revs pick up it pulls strongly. It needed a service anyway so I...

Using 1 piece axle boots-67 VW by
fred67bug
Thanks Speedy Jim for your advice in removing the rear axle bearings.
I used my puller to pull the whole axle tube/bearing combo off in one
operation. I had bought one piece axle boots for reassembly. Looking
in my Bentley manual it seems you have to press the rear shock
mounting assembly off the...

Vacuum line - carb to dist. by
Bill[_3_]
I was thinking of replacing my vacuum advance line from my 34PICT3 to
the SVDA dist. and recalled a friend's rock stock 71 bus with the
original metal "up and over the float level" line. In understand why
VW did this, but here's my question: Is the actual inside diameter
of the line critical -...

Harry Smith
Hello All,
I've been working on this project of mine. I've got a 2.0L type IV
engine out of a '76 Transporter. Heads have 37.5 x 33 mm valves w/
oval exhaust ports. Before dissassembly had 115-130psi compression,
except on #2 with only made 70psi. Got the heads stripped down,
cleaned up, and...

Hello all,
Got the intake manifold and throttle body arrangement mocked up
tonight. Going to cut up the stock FI manifolds & get them welded to
form a Y down to a single 60ish-mm pipe. Hope to use one of the stock
TB's on each side. They have 45mm butterflies and a 59mm mouth. The
intake...

Annoying Generator Light by
Harry Smith
Hi,
Since I've had my Bug, the generator light has been steady on. The
wiring harness is a nightmare and since the battery has been getting
charged....simpler just to not get involved. It's always made me
nervous though, and sure enough I recently had the belt come off due
to an under-tight...
