95 Cherokee Death Wobble? by
TF
My wife drives the Cherokee 95 Country and she twice now has said she hit a
bump and the whole thing shook violently. She said she had to stop at the
side of the highway (complete stop) and then she could proceed.
I drove it and it seems a little 'coarse' (not as smooth or sloppy over
bumps as I...

Expensive engine noises update by
Jeff DeWitt
Went and visited my sick Jeep today and tried to figure out where the
noise was coming from. The stethoscope trick was a great idea, but
didn't really tell me much... the noise seemed to be a little louder at
the top of the engine but not by much, and where it's really noticeable
is underneath......

Dist Cap, rotor and Wires by
Steve Foley
The three local stealerships do not stock wires for my 1987 Wrangler (4.2).
I'll agree to pay their prices for the convenience, but because they don't
stock them for me, I won't pay top dollar.
Rather than pay them to special order them, I'd rather order them on-line.
Anyone got a good source for...

pictures of the finished product (almost) by
Chip
I have to ask myself if it will every really be finished. There will always
be something to fix, buy, adjust, or re-arrange. Anyway, it's on the road.
Sometime it will get new paint.
I want to arrange the plug wires. I have seen a few items to do it. Some
are adjustable that bolt on using 2 of...

almost done by
Chip
The 76 CJ-7 is almost ready. The engine (AMC 360) is installed and running
well. I only have a few small things to fix/adjust. One particular thing
has been a real thorn. The original alternator on this has obviously been
changed because it was switched over to electronic ignition a while...

1948 CJ frame fits...? by
Lee Ayrton
I've been poking around eBay and I found this:
<URL:http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4562375098&category=42606&rd=1>
He's selling a 1948 CJ frame with running gear. Just for fun, does
anyone know if a MB body would bolt up to that frame? Yes, you'd end up
with a...

New tires. :) by
DougW
Well, I was thinking about getting some new rims, possibly
16" and putting P225 or P235 on them.. But while doing the standard
rotation it became apparent (large ass nail) that I'd have to take
them in and get a patch. That combined with some deep cracks in
the rubber and one little bit of cord...

This may have been posted but I didn't see it. This could have been a

Hood Sitters by
O Cachorro
Silly question, but I would like to ask anyway...
I've seen a few magazine 'model' shots and some scenes in some movies where
people sit on the hoods of their Jeep Wranglers. I have a 2000 TJ, and I
was wondering if this is possible without denting the hood. I'm not very
heavy (165 lbs.), but I'm...

'03 KJ Auto Tranny Problem by
CZ10
At 29,500 miles, the transmission on my KJ started giving a very solid
"thump" whenever it disengages from overdrive. Has anybody else experienced
this issue? Any ideas as to its cause? The eprom has already been flashed
by the dealer with the latest update.
Thanks!

Dead computer - can it be rebuilt? - need advice by
Artur Jorge Duque
Hi all,
I've got a pretty much stock 95YJ with around 140,000 miles on it. The
other day, as I was driving, the Jeep turned itself off. It didn't stall
out, just shut down. The battery had juice and I had a half tank of gas.
I tried to re-start but all it would do is crank over and over -...

Expensive sounding engine noises by
Jeff DeWitt
The last few months of driving my good old Cherokee with a 4.0 engine
and about 300,000 miles has been making a bit of a clicking sound when
the engine is cold. Tonight as I was driving along the clicking sound
got a lot worse, and the engine was hot.
As this engine has a BUNCH of miles on it I'm...

Tire Pressure?? 90 Cherokee LTD by
Dana Rohleder
I'm more than a bit confused about my man. rec. tire pressures. The driver's
door says 33psi F&R. The owner's manual says 30psi F&R. The front glovebox
has an additional sticker specifically for a Limited - it states 30/35psi
F/R. I know these pressures don't make a lot of difference anyway, but I...

How to Remove Factory Stereo by
[email protected]
I need to install a hard-drive based MP3 player in my 2001 GC Laredo to
access the back of the unit. I am sure through trial and error I can
start removing things, but if anyone has done it and knows exactly what
needs to be removed in order, that would help a lot. Thanks

XJ Bad head gasket? by
NickT
Hi guys,
My wife has a 2000 Cherokee 4.0L with 80k miles. For the past month or so I
have been refilling the coolant recovery tank weekly. No leak to be found
anywhere. The oil looked fine, no hot chocolate look. I cleaned the oil
filler cap and replaced it. One week later I examined it and there...
