Wheel diameters for '89 Prelude? by [email protected]
I recently acquired a well-tuned 1989 Prelude (not the AWS model) that is quite fun to drive. Fuel-economy is atrocious for a 4-banger, however; and I suspect the tiny 175/60R13 tires are to blame -- as the engine is whining at near 4000rpm going 75mph. 1st gear is also a joke: if a snail breaths...

94 Accord disappearing exhaust noise by Philip Trenholme
When my 94 Accord (vtec) starts it makes a deep exhaust? sound. After a few minutes this disappears. Performance is unaffected. Could this be something loose in the exhaust system that seals itself when warmed up? I have the factory shop manual Phil.

2000 Accord mystery connectors by Nasty
I finally got around to dropping the new head on my wife's car. There are two connectors for which I can't find a plug. One is a fairly large brown square one with a lot of wires feeding it that I THINK was bolted to the underside of the intake manifold. The other is an oval black one with...

Does this make sense? by accord_owner
I took my 97 Accord in to a Honda dealer for maintenance today. They just called and said they found out that the cover to something (I forgot what) was leaking oil onto the spark plugs and spark plug wires. They said that my car has an extended emissions warranty, but technically it does not...

Hi, '91 Civic Si (3dr hatchback) 152k miles I recently took my knuckles off and had new wheel bearings and lower ball joints pressed in at a shop. I also installed new upper control arms myself. All work was done on both sides. I have yet to get an alignment since the work. The car is riding...

Hyundai Scores Higher than Toyota and Honda!!!!! by [email protected]
Wow this is quite surprise to see Hyundai (former maker of Excel) scores higher than Toyata and Honda for the consumer satisfaction index. My simply reaction is how could it possible that Hyundai is more dependable than Toyota and Honda. Forget two expensive Porsche and Lexus. Focus on average...

2000 Accord mystery connectors by Nasty
Hallelujah!!! The Accord is running like a scalded dog. It turns out one of the connectors, the one I called a square brown one, is capped and of no use in the current application. I FINALLY found the plug for the black oval connector, connected it and nada... No difference. I finally realized...

I have a 1999 Honda Accord LX. I can start the car fine. Drive it for 2 min. Shut the engine off. Then it takes 3 or 4 times to start. It will start then die. If I can catch it in time I really give it the gas and its okay. Fuse to fuel pump okay

Anything like the pilot's rear full reclining seats? by [email protected]
I gotta say, the Pilot is a very versatle car. The rear full reclining seats are an amazing feature - Great for taking a snooze or even camping. I'm just not crazy about the look of the car. Does anybody know of any other Suv that can do that?

94 Civic 80amp fuse issue by [email protected]
I go to get into the car, and my belt started to whine - but this was usual, I just haven't had a chance to adjust the belt tension since initially putting a new belt on. I drove less than 20 feet, and the car jolted to a stall. I say "alright, perhaps I just killed it, no problem" and tried to...

Timing belt question by accord_owner
I have a 97 Accord. I read that sometime after 1997, Honda started using a better type of timing belt that lasts longer. If I get my timing belt replaced by a Honda dealer, will they replace it with the better timing belt, or will they still give me the older type of timing belt?

oil observations by jim beam
have two things to report since the head gasket change a couple of weeks ago: 1. changed out the oil twice to help get rid of the grit, and the last time, used castrol gtx 5w-20. using normal gtx 5w-30, on a 1200 mile high speed weekend like last weekend, i'd normally burn about a pint of oil. ...

Radio Antenna Snapped Off... by [email protected]
of my '94 Civic. What are my options for a fix? Haven't taken off the plate thingy with the 2 screws yet to look inside, and I don't care much for the dash removal scenario I read somewhere. There must be an alternative. Thanks for any help! Rich
