unplug the spark-plug: error code or not? by
chibitul
Hi,
To make sure all 4 cylinders are running, I unplugged the high voltage
wire from each spark plug (one a a time, not all at once). Each time
the idle RPM dropped a little bit, so I said "OK, each cylinder must be
firing properly".
However, I drove later to AutoZone and asked them to check the...

Free TECHRON and maybe gas rebates? by
chibitul
Hi,
I never used Techron before, but everyone claims it is the best fuel
system cleaner. You can get two 12oz cans free from AutoZone; and you
don't have to cut UPC by the way :)
I am waiting for my tank to become almost empty and use this stuff.
BTW: some sites claim that you have to put the...

speedometer by
chibitul
Guys, this is the last question for this weekend, I promise!
1997 Civic LX Manual. The speedometer seems to indicate more than the
actual speed. Maybe 10 miles too much, but I haven't check with my
other car yet (will do it very soon though). Mileage is correct though,
tires/rims are the OEM size....

best head gasket for 90 EX 16V by
Ryan Underwood
Hi,
We are getting a new rebuilt head and head bolts for the 90 Accord EX (16V
SOHC) with 200k as soon as we confirm a burned valve on the old one. What is
the recommended head gasket for this application, aftermarket or OEM? And
what, if anything, should be done to the (aluminum) block to ensure...

Speakers for Honda Civic (1998, UK Model) by
Ian
Hi,
I'm in the UK and have just purchased a 1998 5 Door Honda Civic Hatchback
(1.4). I want to replace the factory fitted speakers with some after market
ones. I've been informed by Halfords that the size of the front speakers is
17cm (6.5") and the rear speakers are 10cm although a lot of people...

Exhaust help by
Alex Rodriguez
I decided to do a good deed and change the rusted center pipe on my inlaws 88
Accord. Of course this is turning into a bigger job than expexted. I finally
got pipe out but cutting and grinding the bolts that held the pipe to the cat
convertor. I thought I could just push the bolts out, but...

2000 Cr-v many need new battery by
[email protected]
I took it to Honda for the routine oil change. It was about 92 degrees
and the air was running right before I got in there.
He tested my battery and said it was around 320 and should be around
420. Original Battery.
I'm ok with changing it. Honda has a 100-month warrenty battery for
$85...

How to determine radiator mfg? by
DesignGuy
I've got a 1995 Civic LX, and have had the radiator replaced at a garage due
to overheating. I want to replace the radiator cap (also replaced around the
same time with a non-OEM cap) to an OEM cap as recommended in this
newsgroup.
A call to the Honda dealer find that there are two different caps,...

What Is Term For Metallic Particles In Paint? by
Dick
We had some body work done on our 2003 Accord, and they did a poor job
of matching the colors between the hood and fenders. When I pointed
it out to the estimator, he said they must have used (too much or too
little) of the metallic particles. Causes the paint to reflect light
differently, and...

2005 Honda Accord Hybrid by

This is a warning to anyone looking to buy one of these vehicles. I
just bought one a couple months ago and it makes a constant loud
annoying humming sound around 80 mph. The sound actually starts at 70
and continually gets higher in pitch and louder up to 80 mpg. Honda
refuses to do anything...

'95 Civic making rattling sound by
DesignGuy
I've got a 1995 Civic that makes a metallic rattling sound when the engine
is running. The car can be in park or be driven, the noise is present (not
always present, but seems to be more so lately). The noise seems to be
coming from the engine area, but I can't locate it any more specifically
than...

91 Accord Brake Master Cylider by
Dean
Well, it seems that the brake master cylinder in my Accord has bitten the dust.
:-( My clue that this is the problem would be the paint peeling away from the
brake booster where the brake fluid is eating it away, and the brake pedal going
almost to the floor, not good. <lol>
It looks like a...

Where is thermostat on '95 Civic? by
DesignGuy
I need to replace the thermostat on my 1995 Honda Civic LX. I've looked at
the engine and their are two possible places for it. One is at the engine
end of the lower radiator hose, where the thermoswitch is. The other place
is at the engine end of the upper radiator hose. Both have housings that...

protecting bumpers from scratches - what works? by
[email protected]
I am considering buying a new car. It usually doesn't take long before
my front and rear bumpers are full of paint scratches and chips
(paralell parking in tight city spaces). Can anyone recommend a film
product or bumper strips that actually work well and look reasonable on
a new car?
Thanks
