Selenia Racing oil by GT
Does I really need the Selenia Racing oil in the 2.0 JTS engine or is normal 10w40 (GTX or whatever) OK? The manual says Selenia Racing 10w60, but the only place I can get oil of that weight is the Alfa garage and hard for me to get to during working hours. On top of that, it is significantly...

Turbo / Supercharge by GT
How much would I be looking at to stick either a turbo or a supercharger on my 2.0 JTS 156. See if I can boost those horses from 165 to over 200. Warranty is up at the end of the month, so the car is 'free'.! How about insurance difference - anyone any experience of that?

Pulling left... by GT
Just got 2 new tyres fitted to my 2002 156 JTS. They fitted them to the rear and put the old, partially worn tyres onto my main driving, steering and braking wheels just in time for winter (not looking for a debate on this though!), so they removed and replaced all 4 wheels during the...

CD/mp3 Changer by GT
Standard question I'm sure, but I want to fit a CD changer to my alfa 156. My cd player has broken and I have been quoted over 100 pounds to have it repaired. The radio is fine, just something in the CD mechanism is broken, so for over 100 pounds, I might as well leave it broken and get a CD...

What oil do I use? by GT
I am an oil novice. My last few cars have been French and required no oil top-ups ever! I know my 2002 156 2.0JTS requires frequent oil checks and usually a top-up, but I ran out last month and we go on holiday on Tuesday (to drive about 3000 miles!). I don't have a chance to get to my usual Alfa...

Happy Alfa Post by GT[_10_]
This group is too quiet! Lets start a happy topic (hopefully) - How are everyone's alfas going? Mine has now topped 65k miles. Oct 2002 (52 plate) 2.0JTS Turismo dark blue. Mods: New radio head as the old CD player refused to play CDs after a viscious bump in the road. Nothing major wrong -...

3 Questions in 1 post... by GT[_11_]
Q1 - MAFs: I can relate to the "scalded cat / bus" post the other day and I have read the "dirty or faulty MAF" answer to so many similar posts that I presume this is also my problem, but not being particularly mechanically confident... MAF = Mass Air Flow. Clearly the engine needs the right...

Door mirrors by GT[_11_]
Both my door mirror mounts have completely shed their 'black' now. My old Fiat Marea did this too. I'm not too bothered about it as the resulting bauxite (corroded aluminium) looks like chrome from a distance! Should I be concerned? Are the mirrors likely to fall off?!?

JTS exhaust by GT[_11_]
Best online shop for exhausts please... I need a new back box for my 156 2002 2.0JTS. Its not the same as the TSpark exhaust system. The flexi pipe was the blowing part, so they welded a similar sized piece in and all is well, but there is only luck holding the rear silencer together at the...

I don't like this wine by GT[_11_]
My 2002 156 2.0jts... Don't know if the TSparks do this, or if anyone else has even noticed this, but I can 'hear' when the oil is low: I get a whining noise just as the oil level falls below the dipstick - it usually needs a pint or so and the whine goes away. It has always done this from new,...

Windscreen washer jets clogged by GT[_12_]
Windscreen washers. 4 holes at passenger side, 3 are blocked. 4 holes at drivers side, 2 holes are blocked and 1 is dribbling. How do I get to clean them without removing too much 'car'? I have tried a pin etc, but they need to be removed and/or jetted somehow.

Failing battery by GT[_12_]
Doing too many short trips these days and I've had to charge the battery twice so far this month. A 70 mile roundtrip (start+37 miles, stop, start+37 miles), seems to put about 15 or so 'starts' back into it and turns the indicator green. Unfortunately, we keep doing short 1-2 mile trips...
