Snow means tow: City tows 100 cars
By Steve Kemme • enquirer.com • February 11, 2010
Since Tuesday afternoon, Cincinnati police have
ordered about 100 cars illegally parked on
streets serving as emergency snow routes to be
towed to nearby side streets.
None of the cars were impounded and none of

Ad absurdum per aspera[_2_]
I doubt I could afford to *park* 'em in NYC, let alone buy 'em, but a

Bait Car by
necromancer[_7_]
I'm watching this show on TruTV called, "Bait Car," where the LAPD
essentially baits car thieves with an expensive car left in the 'hood,
generally with keys in ignition and unlocked. Of course, the car is
equipped to shut off when the cops send the signal.
What amazes me is just how stupid some...

Routing - Victorville, CA to Santa Monica Pier by
larry_scholnick
A friend recently asked me how I would direct a group of antique
vehicles to get from Victorville to the Santa Monica Pier. My answer
was to follow the former routings of US-66 - that seems most
appropriate.
No, the vehicles are street legal but are incapable of freeway speeds,
so the short...

Unbelieveable! by
John Lucas[_2_]
A friend of my wife was rear ended twice in a week by the same guy. On
Saturday the lady braked for a deer and the guy was too close and
rear-ended her, knocking her into a ditch. On Wednesday, in her
husband's car she was at a stop sign and the same guy hit her. This
time the cop was a bit more...

Important Announcement I am opting out of Usenet for good by
Bob C,
What up son!
I have decided to shift my mission in the great science of viatology
and will be leaving Usenet effectively immediately.
I have decided that it would be best not to deal with ninnies such as
yourselves and instead focus my viatological mission by promoting
viatology to the media as a...

High Speed Passenger Trains in America - Would Terrorists attack them? by
Speeders & Drunk Drivers are MURDERERS[_1_]
China has a 200 mph train in service now but if america tried that it would
probably lead to daily cases of loonies blowing up the rails right before
the train comes along, killing hundreds of people. Be easy to do and no
need to be suicidal as with plane terrorists.

tell us your road kill story! by
george pearl
My Roadkill story is actually borrowed from a
coworkers experience:
His dad was on a fishing trip to Idaho.
As they were driving west on I-90 heading for Spokane
his dad, who was in the drivers seat of the pick-up, saw
a dark speck flying toward them at sub-sonic speed.

What is viatology? by
Carl Rogers
If you're new to these newsgroups, odds are you've come across the
term 'viatology'. So what is it?
Viatology is simply the scientific study of roads. To help increase
the understanding of roads, in terms of empirical measure, one
conducts field research to show similarities and contrasts...

Traffic Cameras by
lil abner
It's all about money.
On the news another City is taking down Red Light Cameras, or the Camera
Company is. Not enough money was coming in.
Another small city is installing them. Talk is about engineering to make
sure they pay for themselves.
Another larger city has them already. Not making enough...

trucker WTF? by

Was stuck on I-66 in slow, bumper-to-bumper traffic this PM, driver of
a semi (had the logo of some moving company on it, don't remember
which one) was straddling the line between the two rightmost lanes
driving slowly with his 4-ways on. No visible reason for doing so
that I could see. any...
