Broken water pump bolts by
[email protected]
When trying to replace the water pump on my 92 lx 5.0 I managed to
break 3 of the bolts, 2 of which are deep inside the timing chain
cover.
These bolts are pretty long, and its hard to tell if they pass through
the timing chain cover and thread into the block itself, or if they
thread into the...

Dead battery, then smoking wires after jump attempt by
[email protected]
I have a 92 LX 5.0 notchback, and I got into the car today and it
wouldn't start (engine would barely click). Radio and lights looked
fine, but figured it was a weak battery. I tried jumping it but the
engine would turn very slowly and would not start. Tried to jump again
with a car that had a...

Opinions needed! - Blower needs overhaul by
chuck
Opinions needed!
Some plastic got in the supercharger oil and now the seals are waring out,
will cost $700 to rebuild it.
..
OR could get a new supercharger with a bypass for $3,000 to match new engine
?.
Or I could sell the DOA mustang with SC to be fixed to a gearhead for $1,000

Lifespan of timing chain for 96 coupe 3.8? by
Chuck
I've got a '96 mustang coupe.... Oil changed every 3'000. Mostly
highway driving.. Currently have 142,000 miles..
How many miles does the timing chain usually last? Chain is not making
any noise.. Just concerned due to mileage... Should I be?
Thanks

Suggestions on brand of shocks and struts by
Chuck
I have a '96 Mustang Coup that is my daily driver
138,000 miles on original shocks and struts which I'm about to change.
I do not care to buy shocks based on race sponsorship, or that
the kids would be impressed by the brand I chose.
I want a good factory ride (or better) for normal driving.
I...

Recap:... I had an intermittent problem with an O2 sensor, plus
possible fuel contamination. Ran out bad gas, ran "sea foam" through
vacuum hose, and put some into gas. Made O2 sensor problem go away
and car ran normal..

Subframe connectors or window adjustments? by
Chuck
In searching for subframe connectors (google) I see a wide variety..
I have a '96 coupe with no go fast options.
Will subframe connectors make a difference in body flex?
Is the something you have done at body shop (as I'd assume you'd want
to make sure everything is level/flat to begin with.)
The...

Cleaning mass air flow sensor by
Chuck
What's the best to clean the air flow sensor? I've noticed
electronics cleaner,,, would that be contact cleaner? I have some
"tuner cleaner" but I think it has some kind of lube in it..
Do you clean it every so often as Preventative Maintenance?
I have a 96 mustang with 135,000 miles on it. I...

Been told that current odometers are motor driven rather that from the
speedometer.. Is this correct?
Mine is not digital.. just looks like they always have.. just this one

93 vs 06 by
Chumley[_1_]
I have a 93 about 240 hp 5.0 (weight is about 2700)
If I get a 2006 V8 about 300 hp (weight at 3500)
Will the drive the same or the 2006 be more sluggish due to the weight ?
