Do anyone would recommand me a...

VATS Decoder Module No-Start Failure by
Lily A. Sullivan
My 88 ran great but now it will not crank.
The diagnostic read-out code indicates that the VATS (vehicle anti-theft
system) decoder module has failed.
I live in Hawaii and the local GM dealership cannot be trusted to fix the
problem.
Can I bypass the decoder module somehow?
Other than replacing the...

trickle charger recommendations by
Doug[_12_]
I want to store a car with battery connected for perhaps a month or
two during winter. What is a good trickle charger to keep hooked up
on it to keep the battery from dying ? Will it matter if the battery
is not at full charge when I put it on? Since I never had one, do
they use alligator...

Flexible steering coupler in a '76 by
BSAKing
The steering on old Betsy was getting mighty sloppy, so I checked and
the flexible steering coupler is shot. I see I can snag one complete
assembly easily from corvette central or even a rebuild kit to re-use
my hardware and just put in a new flex part. $84 vs $13.
My question is - are there any...

leaf springs by

I copied this off a corvette forum:
Corvette and leaf springs. Many people are surprised to hear that the
C6 Corvette uses leaf springs. This seams to conger up images of ox
carts and old Ford pickups. I thought I would post my understanding of
the technology with the hopes that other will post...

crap! by
tdodge
just tooling home, bad driver made a left turn into my left front
fender. No escape..the only other choice was a head on with a third
vehicle, so I had to take the hit. No injuries.
Looks like the whole front clip is gone.
Still drivable, she got the ticket,
but my car is broke.

Clear coat scratch removal by
TF
I waxed my new '04 and in some spots, I can see very faint lines and swirls
on the clearcaot, despite washing and wiping down first.
Is there a way to buff these out by hand.
They are so faint that most people might not even bother, but if I can get
rid of them at next wax, I'd like to.
Thanks,
TF

1968 corvette wiper door troubleshooting by

When I start my 1968 corvette, the wiper door opens. The wipers and headlights
work fine, but the door stays open unless I close it manually after the car is
turned off. Any suggestions?

Within the next few months I'll begin restoring my '71 ragtop. Eventually,
I'd like to take it cross country. However, I've been wondering about
security issues: have any of you had problems during long cruises? How do
you keep you valuables secure?
I don't have a luggage rack and, at...
