How to adjust idle on 96 SW1 auto trans? by
Chuck Connell
Hi all,
The idle speed on this car seems a bit low. When stopped at a light, in
drive, the idle is about 600-650 according to the tach. It sounds like it
is on the verge of stalling. I'd like to raise the idle just a bit, say to
800. Is this easy to do myself? I am handy with tools, but don't want...

Seat belts by
kent
The automatic seatbelt in my 92 SL1 does not always work. Sometimes the
belt end attached to the roof will roll back and strap me in, sometimes
not. It also sometimes operates by itself when the car is shut off.
Dealer recommends replacing the "chime module" bu I don't want to just
start buying...

NapalmHeart
Hi,
I'm replacing the starter on a '96 SL2. The top bolt is rather rounded off.
Anyone dealt with this problem before?
Thanks,
Ken

Loud Running---L-300?? by
[email protected]
Why has my L-300 suddenly started running very loud? It seems to be
super loud on the freeway at speeds over 60. Could it be an exhaust
problem, or something? I do not think it is my tires, because I hear
the same noise while the car is at idle, only not so loud. Any help on
this problem will be...

1994 SL1 Pulsing at cruise speeds by
Chris
I have a 1994 SL1, when I'm cruising down the road - foot at one spot on the
pedal (say holding 30 mph) the car surges almost like it's getting fuel then
not. When I've got the pedal down and accelerating hard, it's no problem.
Have replaced the spark plugs, spark plug leads, fuel filter, PCV...

1992 SL2 with leak in condenser and dry line by
Mike McWhinney
Hello,
I have recently been having A/C problems in my 1992 Saturn SL2
(174,500 miles
and still trucking along, although hotter now). I took it to Saturn,
they charged it up for me with R134a (conversion valves/fittings
retrofit done by them previously). That set me back $70. It worked
pretty...

I have a 97 SL1 which I bought new in Salt Lake City. It had a bad smell
coming from the vents after the air conditioning was shut off. I took it to
the dealer and they put something on it that run the ventilation fan after
the air conditioning was shut off. They told me condensation on the...

2000 LS won't start by
3valve
Hi. I haven't found the exact symptoms I'm experiencing on this site,
so I'm posting my own question.
My 2000 Saturn LS won't start. The battery appears to be fine. The
lights are bright, the stereo is loud. But when I turn the key I just
hear a single click sound in the engine compartment, on the...

Drum Pulls Off Easily by
[email protected]
My grandparents recently bought me a 1997 SL1 with my money without
consulting me first. I am having a couple issues that I'm not sure
where to start.
1. Last week, I blew a tire. While changing the tire I found that the
brake drum easily slides off without making any adjustments. I know
that it...

Brake problems 24 may05 by
Roy
Had my 98 SL1 in to have rotors and pads changed. Since I got it back every
once in a while the front brakes will tighten up. The pedal gets really firm
and when I push in the clutch it is like the brakes are being applied
lightly. It only seems to be affecting the front, if I hit the brakes...

Drain holes by
[email protected]
I have a 95 Saturn SL2. After heavy rains, the rear floor of my car is
wet, and there is constant dripping from the molding around the windows
on the driver's side. I know from other posts here that I likely have
clogged drain tubes around my sunroof (factory installed).
However, what I haven't...

There have been some good cars produced under those names...and I hope
they'll find a way to continue. But...not under GM. GM has...
