Bilstein Touring vs HD Struts by Raybender
Hi all, Just happened to look under my 97 328 today and saw that the left front strut is apparently losing much of its precious bodily fluid. Pulled the wheel and confirmed. My question is.... on the Bilstein website they do a bang up job of selling you on the monotube shock technology as being...

E36 intermittent wipers by Planar1
Is it just me or is there a way to adjust the interval between wipes when the wipers are set to the intermittent setting? If it is un-adjustable, I think it was a serious oversight for a car of this class. Your thoughts? TIA

Can't see thru platic back window anymore by Mike
Have 1995 318 convertible and need to replace the back window. New models have a glass window. Is there a way to replace the plastic window with glass? Or would that require a different geometry of the top frame mechanism? Any recommendations from those that have done this already? Mike

Questions, questions, questions by Vernon Balbert
Okay, I've read about SMG and know that it stands for Sequential Manual Gearshift (or so I've read) but what exactly IS SMG? Also, why is it that in the 7 series if the engine is a 4 liter or less it's called the 7xxiL but if the engine is 4.5 liters or bigger it's called the 7xxLi? Vern

BMW X5 Chains, Spider Spikes, Other by [email protected]
My understanding is that the X5 can't handle chains. I've been reading about the Spikes-Spider (http://www.spikes-spider.ch/) with great interest. A few questions. 1) Has anyone purchased these? If so, where did you order them from in the US? 2) For an X5, would you recommend two or four? If two,...

1993 525tds starting problem by Graeme
Hello, Initial diagnosis from roadside recovery man was that it was likely to be glow plug related. Started easy with 'Easy Start'. There is no mention in the fuse box of a fuse associated with the glow plugs (and probably not surprising as they take a load of current), but is there a relay...

Hi all, I've just purchased a 1997 528i. Very nice car, and I'm most pleased with my purchase. Two the the climate control buttons (up/down arrows, one above the other, on the right hand side of the central panel) are broken. By that I mean the button plastic is broken. You can still press them,...
