BugMe videos? by OldIron
Hello there I have the Bug Me series on how to repair your VW Beetle on VHS. I've found all but one in .avi form on-line, and was curious if anyone had that one in .avi form? I basically just want to watch them off of my laptop, instead of being stuck to my VHS and television. Thanks

Parts Made In China, Are They OK To Use? by [email protected]
Hello! There are some pats made in China that I wold like to try, but I am hesitant to use them. Are they OK to use? They look a little rough around the edges. If I used brake master cylinder made in China, I think I would replace it after 3 years.

Just one of those weeks by [email protected]
Last week I thought I would have time this week to do some work on the garage & shop. But nope, our farm got hit by a tornado on Sunday morning. So once again the garage & shop get put on the back burner. So I get to spend the next couple of weeks cleaning up the mess. Lots of large oak trees...

Think I blew a piston? by barnhart_pinball
I took my 72 SB out on a run today. Ran great, until I was pulling through the hills and it started to lose power dramically. Thought maybe the coil was shorting until I saw the blue smoke out the rear. Pulled over and there was oil all over the engine compartment, especially running/dripping...

Tired of mechanics and the run around... by 71-transporter
I am venting ... I do most of my own work but occasionally if I am too busy I bring it in for a professional look over and/or major work. Once we had the valves gapped and timing adjusted and the car was overheating terribly when it came back. I had to readjust the timing myself. Another time I...

Quick Parts Question by Rebecca
Since there isn't a good place to get VW parts within 200 miles of here I've been ordering off the web. Just wondering if there are good and bad places to go. I've been using CIP1 because they take paypal, where all my money is and SoCal Auto Parts because I can't find lower priced parts. Where...

starter not starting by Ant
Hi All This is a 74 Bay with a 2.0L CJ engine. Last night she took me home fine. Later I tried to start it and it does nothing, just a dimming in the lights, but no starting engine and no starting noise. The Haynes manual says the battery must be low, but I charged it overnight and this morning...

last year for the standard Beetle ? by Iowa883
When I am choosing a donor beetle for a Baja, assuming I can't find one already converted. What is the last year that they made the standard version, as I am hearing the super doesn't make a very good Baja. Thanks. Iowa883

AvGas in a Bug? by Al Gilson
I never thought I'd see the day. The aviation fuel I put in my Cessna is now cheaper than the gas I buy for my 1970 Bug Convertible. I'm not saying I would try it, but it is intriguing. What would happen if a person was to run his 1600 single port on 100 octane leaded aviation gasoline?

While returning from a Thanksgiving trip to North Carolina and back to Pensacola ( 10.5 hrs one way ) . I passed a purple 1968 VW Sedan on I-85 just south of Atlanta, Ga and later observed a very rat looking ( rusty and no bumpers )'69 or '70 VW bus traveling eastbound on I-65 just south of...
