iRacing... help... must... resist! by Andrew MacPherson
Ok, so this invitation lands in my inbox. Now I've already said I dislike the pricing model of iRacing intensely, and that I really object to having to drive vehicles I have zero interest in, then pay -- when I'm allowed -- to add decent vehicles & tracks. So can someone explain to me why I've...

RSC and their mods by Darus
Is it just me or are the moderators at RSC even more restrictive than ever? It <seems> like more and more ppl. there have threads locked or deleted, get "yellow warnings" and are otherwise muted by the moderators. The mods seem to be the "be all, end all" on what is and is not pertinent to a...

Damn, I won't be buying GTR afterall by Chris Pound
Because they are putting Starforce protection drivers in it. Even the freaking demo has Starforce in it. I didn't buy HL2 because of Steam and I certainly won't buy anymore games with Starforce after buying Toca2. I classify Starforce as a Trojan. Look it up.

iRacing = crack in a box by [email protected]
The NDA has been lifted for iRacing. And as I said in the subject, iRacing is crack in a box. It's the most addicting thing a simracer will get since the end of the NROS. It's that amazing. Sure it's not finished yet, but it will open in less than a month so you guys better start preparing...

[OT] F1 Qualifying... run that past me again by Andrew MacPherson
Are Bernie & the gang on drugs? I'd repeat the new rules here, but they went right over my head when the BBC just ran through them. I really must learn to pay more attention now that watching F1 requires revision notes. Andrew McP... only a part time F1 fan, obviously, otherwise the Bahrain GP...

GTR and Starforce by Engineer
Hello all, Received GTR for X-mas, went to install it, read the biz about Starforce Copy Protection and decided to abort the install. Is Starforce a bad deal? Research on Google shows good and bad. Some folks claim it slowed their PC down and screwed with cd-rom burning. While others say it...

Will iRacing ever produce a PC sim ? by DB
Anyone notice the web site at www.iRacing.com ? It gives me the impression that iRacing is only going to produce or license code for commercial simulators or pay to play arcade systems or something. Anyone know what the scoop is with DKs company ? Have they changed there original plans after...

Top 5 racing sims? by news[_5_]
co-worker wants to buy a Logitech G25 and wants to know what games to get to go with it. I like my racing realistic... so much that I've been racing a real dirt car for the last couple of years... so I've not simmed much since about the time the rFactor demo came out... What would be the best...

GT4 - A First Look by Steve Smith
Sony's Gran Turismo 4 - A First Look It's finally out! Was it worth the wait? Yes! Is it better than GT3? Yes! Are Sony's sachems mugwumps for having squidded out on online play? You betcha! In truth, it's not that much different from GT3...which is to say, it's still the best console...

How long will iRacing survive as subscription service? by jeffareid
My guess is about 3 years, although it could go longer if the money guys are willing to keep plowing money into the program. Once the newness wears off, some players will lose interest, just as with any game or activity. I think it will be sometime late this year or early next year before a trend...

rFactor review by Tony Rickard
After reading the A.S.S. I was ready for rFactor to surpass all other sims in every area. The reality seems to be far from this yet I can see the potential there and can only summise the reviewers were writing with a vision for what might come rather than the product they were reviewing. Throw in...

EA strikes again by Indy
http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/sportsbusiness/news/story?id=1945691 EA ruined NASCAR racing by getting exclusive rights, now they're going to do the same to football. What kills me is that these corporations (NASCAR, NFL, PGA, FIFA, ....) let this happen. I know, it's all about money, and...
