1990 Vanagon Warm Stalling & Loss of Power by [email protected]
My 90 Vanagon, cranks up and runs great, until its warm. When slowing down in gear and then disengaging clutch, idle drops to 1-200 RPM's, bounces there, until it stalls. Starter will turn over motor but will not restart, unless it sits for 30-60 min. However, if it does this on a hill, I can let...

Can't Fill Tank by wrenden
I went to fill up 2009 TDI Jetta fuel tank and the pump kept shutting off before the tank was even half full. Went to another pump and now it won't take any fuel at all. I put my ear to the filler pipe and could hear a lot of gurgling going on. Any ideas? Thanks, wrenden

Cargo Partition for 2003 Passat Wagon by Kevin
I am looking for a partition that would separate the cargo area of my passat wagon (and the dogs staying back there) from the passenger compartment. VW sells one (a "cargo partition" p/n 3B9017221B) but it costs $450! and looks like you would have to screw it into the moulding which might affect...

CEL on Particle Filter by [email protected]
Here is the issue: I have a mostly continuous CEL that VW diagnoses as an "internal crack on the particle filter". The flow is not blocked, there is no increased pollution (per VW anyway) and the car starts, idles and runs properly with no decrease in mileage. There are no signs of physical...

A week ago I had a new cylinder lock with a read coil switch replaced in my Jetta GLS 2001. Since then, my battery has been dying. I put in a new battery and had the alternator tested and a draw test. All of that checked fine, but the battery keeps dying. The other day I noticed that my daylights...

Hi everyone. A friend has a VW Polo twist 2004 which drains the battery every two days or so when the vehicle is standing idle. So she has been told by the VW garage the problem is the car radio - called an 'Alpine'. What the problem is they dont say but they do know they want £50+/hour to sort it...

I have a 98 Cabrio convertible with 2-liter ABA engine.Recently replaced the timing belt, and now it runs like crap. Symptoms are consistent with vacuum leakage, but all the ports I can find are connected to something. I must have hooked something up wrong in reassembly. Question is - can anyone...

I have an 82 Vanagon that came to me leaking brake fluid from behind the dash. My problem seems to be that the brake fluid reservoir is simply pressed into the top of the master cylinder with two rubber grommets providing the seal. If the grommets get soft with age or improper brake fluid (I...

Can anyone suggest a place to purchase the struts, not just the cartridges, for a 1987 16V Scirocco? The strut itself is actually broken. My garage is coming up empty. Every place he looks either has only the cartridges or, despite claiming to have struts in stock, it turns out they really...

94' Eurovan Westfalia C.V. Auxiliary Battery - Where is it ??? by [email protected]
I'm going to access my 1993 Westfalia battery today and it is in the aft locker beside the luggage compartment. If you indeed do have a gel battery you need to have a special voltage regulator as the high voltage (usually 14..4V) from the vehicle alternator/regulator will boil the gel and kill...

Volkswagen's head in the United States says that the company would give thought to bringing the Amarok pickup truck to the U.S. if the so-called Chicken Tax is repealed.
