Just pulled the code on my son's '96 318ti and it comes up P1174, which is something like "Fuel Trim Adaptation Malfunction"; whatever that is. Seems to run fine, although overheating, which it's being shopped for today. Anyone have this error and figured out exactly what it means? JC

Had some new rear discs and pads fitted (E30 325 Sport 1990) and there now is an intermittent grinding/thumping noise coming from the near side rear wheel. I can stop it by applying the handbrake one notch but the situation is unsatisfactory. Anyone know the possible cause of the fault? David

Been playing with E30 doors today :-) Seems that UK spec cars built after the mid-87 face lift have 1" thick side impact bars, earlier ones don't. They also seem to be pre-wired for tweeters. This is on the two door model. Also looks like the window lifters are different. Hope that makes...
