Brake question by GGinn
Hi everybody. I have a 95' YJ. Left for work Fri morning. Brakes were fine. Got in Jeep after work and the pedal almost goes to the floor. I pulled a front tire and the pads appear to have about 3/16 left on them. The fluid level was at add, but not below. What should I be looking at here??...

fuel pump for 98 TJ by Arold \Al\ Green
Hi Group, This is a continuing problem for "98TJ will not start". Turns out it is a fuel pump problem and I have received a new Mopar fuel pump. The new pump looks the same and has exactly the same dimensions as the one I removed. The problem now is that I cannot install it. It is almost 1cm...

97 wrangler charging problem?? by cal
My son's jeep died on the way home from college yesterday. About 25 miles from home, he noticed that the alternator dash gauge was only showing about 9 volts. The further he drove, the lower the gauge moved. Everything electrical just slowed down/dimmed until everything, including the engine,...

Jingle Bells, Jingle bells Crossovers in the ditch All wheel drive ain't all wheel stop You dumb son of a <glitch> OK, possibly a few too many barely modified minivans with delusions of 4-wheeling in the ditches today in Colorado.

GW Gauge Readings Restored by [email protected]
As a follow-up to an earlier posting regarding low oil pressure readings, I finally got around to switching my instrument cluster BACK to the original cluster, and PRESTO--all my gauge readings are back to normal, with oil pressure now reading 45-50 psi when underway instead of 30 and reading 35 at...

What has four wheels and flies? by Square Wheels[_26_]
What has four wheels and flies? Well, Bill's jHeap has 3 and a spare; that will make 4 if he ever figures out how to mount it. (Hint: pretend it's a goat, Bill.) And Bill himself has flies. And BTW, Llewellen, since you are so stupid as to foolishly continue to post to ABPA, you should remember...

Unusable Fuel in Tank by [email protected]
When I bought my latest Grand Wagoneer, I was casually advised by the mechanic at the Jeep garage not to burn down the fuel below 1/4 tank, lest the engine quit on curves. What I actually discovered is that when my gauge says "1/4" I am out of fuel. Has anyone else experienced this? Does it mean...

98 TJ will not start by Arold \Al\ Green
I parked my TJ after a problem free run. Tried to start it the next morning and it will not start. Suspect a fuel problem because it will fire a couple bursts when I spray some starter fluid into the air intake. I hope it is not the fuel pump, but not sure how to check this. I understand there...

thanks you for your replies by [email protected]
Now that I snow is here, I can go out and have fun. Since I do a combination of snow-covered roads, and clear highways, is there a maximum safe speed (for the mechanics) that 4WD can be used? Gotta print an save these posts. Thanks to all for your comments.

Wagoneer AMC360 HEI Ignition by [email protected]
Does anyone have any opinions or thoughts on the advantages/ disadvantages of converting an AMC360 ignition from standard distributor to HEI? Are there different HEI installations that apply to the AMC360? I had heard that the HEI distributor was more moisture-resistant than OEM installed...

Cherokee as tow vehicle question by Lee Ayrton
I have a 97 Cherokee, 4.0, auto, /part/time 4WD transfer case. I don't know if it has any sort of facotry towing package but at some point someone put a 2" frame-mount receiver on it. It is possible that I'll want to two a UHaul box trailer from AZ to RI sometime in the next few months. How much...

Synthetic Oil in Possible High Mileage AMC 360 by [email protected]
While I realize that the subject of oil has been debated here ad nauseum, I am considering switching to synthetic oil in my '87 Grand Wagoneer AMC 360. The GW has 183K, but the engine is strong and clean, and it is unknown whether or not the engine has ever been rebuilt. I am, therefore, concerned...
