Timing belt question by zenmartini
I know the timing belt is supposed to be replaced at 60k. My 2000 is at 75k but the belt is in good condition... no nicks etc. Money is tight at the moment... how much longer can I go before this has to be replaced... I know that I'll be stuck wherever I am but there is no damage that can occur...

M-Edition by Lexington T. Mangum
My friend has a 1994 Miata for sale. He says it is an M Edition and is worth more than the regular base edition. If so, what are the added amenities in the M Edition. How much more is it worth comparitively. mAnd how do you tell for certain it is in fact an M Edition? Thanks

Cockpit cover by BCRandy
Well, after 4 years, I'm saying goodbye to my 2003 - the lease is up next month. I'll miss her, but work requires 4 doors! I have a pair of black visor plugs, a round satin black shift knob, and a gray cockpit cover (used 10-12 times) that I'll have no need for. I've modified the cover,...

Time for a new clutch? by South Ocean Drive
What should I be looking for to decide whether my '96 Miata with 140K miles needs a new clutch? Is the mileage a good indication? Should I wait until I can detect slippage -- but how do I do that if it happens very gradually? I don't feel anything different -- but then again, would I? And if...

Pictures of piston, valves & spark plus: what does this tell you? by [email protected]
Pictures were taken right after the head was taken off. No cleaning at all. Pictures of cylinder 1 & 4. They seem dirty, is this what I should expect from a '92 NA width 115.000 miles? Must say it looks worse on the pictures than...

Hi, I bought a '92 a couple years ago, and it has 85,000 miles on it now. For the past few months it's been getting harder, and harder to shift, and today, there for a while, I couldn't get into any gear at all, but I finally manged to get it into 5th and drove home feathering the clutch at every...

Top repair question by zenmartini
I have a soft top that has a seam that looks like its coming apart. There is no stitching but it feels as if there was some kind of adhesive used. Any ideas as to what I can use to repair it? I've got two images of the problem he http://www.jkf194.com/top.htm

Engine died coming off the freeway! by [email protected]
Hello, I own a '90 Miata with 140,000 on it and have had few real problems with it. However, my drive to work this morning resulted in my engine cutting out one me. Perhaps someone could suggest possible causes given the events. First, I had already noticed the engine was not holding oil very...

Loose screw in dashboard by Victor[_1_]
About one month into driving my new '06 MX-5, I started hearing a faint rattling noise on bumpy roads coming from the dashboard. This went on on and off (more on than off) for a couple of months until yesterday, when the noise became noticeably louder and then it stopped. The rattling noise was...

Seqins + Leather = Bad by Carol[_1_]
Now don't go thinking nasty things about sequins and leather. Although this did end up nasty for my steering wheel. I swear it's the cutest skirt. It's black with all these white swirling paisleys all over it. A bunch of the paisleys have lovely little silver sequins sewn onto them. So far so...
