Yokohama H4S vs BFGoodrich T/A T by
OttawaTrade
My Honda Civic EX (dring mostly between 75m/h and 85m/h in dry conditions)
badly needs a set of 4 new tires due to snow season just got here in Ottawa,
Canada. I need them next week. After doing some research, I loved to have
BFGoodrich T/A H, but they are out of stock online, so I can only pick...

help taillight 1985 Grand Marquis by
[email protected]
Hi all,
My Dad recently backed into a trailer and broke the tail light lens
cover of his 1985 Mercury Grand Marquis. He recently got a citation
that seems to be "fix it or get it off the road".
I have not been able to find a replacement after trying the auto parts
stores locally and on the...

Electrical: L brake light dead when headlights on by
[email protected]
I hope someone here will be able to give me a quick diagnosis.
This is a 97 Nissan Sentra.
If the headlights are on, the left brake light doesn't work. The tail
lights, right brake, center brake, and turn signal lights all work all
of the time, and if the headlights are off everything...

Used propane tanks (DOT rated for vehicle) by
Bret Ludwig
What are the requirements for having propane tanks inspected and
certified? Should you attempt to clean them internally yourself or send
them to a pro for cleaning as well as any needed hydro-test or sonic
inspection?
I've got a chance to get s 40 gallon that would be about perfect for a
project...

Mazda MPV, humming noise by
pater
00 MPV , v6 multiport. Air box intermittantly emits a loud humming
noise, vacuum type of noise. Wondering if this is a common enough
headache so as someone has seen it before & knows the solution. If you
pinch off the large vacuum line going from the plenum to the intake
tube, it goes away. This...

Is Ford focus now OK by
Dunsy
I have a 2002 Focus ZX3 and plan to buy another. My only complaint is that it seems that components on the car wear out much too fast. I had to change the starter at 40,000 miles, the CD player broke at 30,000 etc... I had a 1995 Honda Civic EX before this car and never had problems like this but...

Plymouth Breeze Squeal by
RobVT
I have a 1998 Plymouth Breeze that has just picked up a squealing
habit. When I reach about 20 MPH I can hear a low squeal coming from
the right front wheel area. It's unlike the squeal from worn brakes
and it doesn't get better or worse with braking. The only thing that
seems to influence the...

Did the 1987 Toyota van tend to overheat? by
Rod
I've got a 1987 Toyota van. One thing I discovered, when I had the water
pump replaced, was that the thermostat wasn't in place. (Why the mechanics
didn't put one in when they had the chance, I don't know.)
Anyway, this leads me to wonder, did 1987 Toyota vans tend to overheat? Is
that why the...

Question about tires by
Torquemada
I'm considering purchasing tires and I have some questions regarding the
speed ratings. When I choose tires on "Tire Rack" it warns that the
minimal rating for tires on my 4 cyl accord are H rated (130 Mph). The T
rated tires (118Mph) are significantly cheaper. Given that I am not a "boy
racer"...

Aveo can't-lock-oneself-out mechanism? by
[email protected]
i'm driving a rental Aveo. The papers do not state a year, but by the

The vehicle has manual doorlocks
The driver's door is setup such, that one can't lock oneself out

96 Nissan Sentra, Radiator diagnositics question by
Al Kondo
I have a 96 Sentra GXE with 120k miles on it. Recently, I have been
having overheating problems. I have a suspicion that my problems
derive from my radiator.
My radiator has its tubes travel vertically from top to bottom. As I
understand it, there should be a gradient of heat from the top of...

I want to know if it is normal for a battery to have the positive post

cracks on the battery
so i don't know were it's coming from. Maybe from underneath the post?
