Engine diagram C3 by E_Tar
Where would I get a diagram of the 1980 C3 engine ? Or maybe one of those blown up diagrams showing where everything fits. Well, Mainly I'm trying to educate my self about the engine and how it is laid out, before I start opening stuff up...

L98 plenum by David Johnson
Just bought a powder coated plenum. Supposed to have been off a 89. But it is not. I have removed EGR and smog pump from my 89. The plenum and TB are diffrent. Is the extra triangular shaped hole between the TB and plenum used for EGR? If not what is its purpose? Or is it part of the IAC. What...

C3 Brakes by RM
I have a 82 Collector Editor with very low miles and the calipers are leaking. Everything about the car is original. The question is, do I have my calipers rebuilt? Or do I purchase rebuilt ones and exchange mine? Or purchase new AC-Delcos? Would I devalue the car having new calipers...

need some used Goodyear EMTs? by Clayton E. Cramer
I put a pair of them from my C5 up on eBay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1,1&item=8024888584&sspagename=STRK%3AMESE%3AIT with a starting bid of $50 for two of them. To my surprise, no one's interested. These have 4/32" of tread left. Clayton E. Cramer

A beautiful New Years Day by Dad
What a beautiful day to start a new year out with, took the Corvette out and warmed it up good, was a bit hard to accelerate at over 100 in 4th. Wanted to get a little loose on the cold pavement. Had to wash some road grim off but was still worth it to get it out again, 3 weeks is to long to let it...

1995 Corvette Problems (security ??) by gunnerT
I own a 1995 Corvette. It has 6,000 miles on it. I had to replace the original equipment battery this summer. After I put the replacement battery in I did not try to start it for about a month. When I did finally try to start it the new battery was completely drained. After trying to charge it I...

Break Problem by Nick Cleghorn
I have a 1974 C-3 that I have had the brakes worked on twice and shortly after getting it back from the shop the brakes go soft again. I can find no break fluid leakage anywhere. Any suggestions? Thanks ahead of time. Nick

Newbie Questions by redranger69
Ok, I admit I have the bug for a corvette. (Actually I've had it for a long time!) Anyway, I'm interested in C4 (basically, because this is the price range I can afford... around $12000) Which years are the best in this range? I would want something reliable. What mileage would be the max before...

Mirror Gromet Rplacement by Steve Horrillo
The grommet right behind the driver's side mirror that holds the mirror in place popped off. Even though I removed the mirror it's too tight a space for me to push it back on. The dealer said the whole mirror needs to be replaced at the cost of $500! Any tips on how to get the retainer ring...

Wheel hub Extensions on a 1980 C3 by E_Tar
Was wondering, would a 1-inch front and rear wheel hub extension be advisable for a c3 -1980 roadster ? The result would be the tires jutting out an inch more on either side in the rear giving the car a meaner look and (I assume) improving handling. Would it be advisable ?

Power antenna by NH Vette guy
I have a 92 convertible, not sure if that matters, that I need to change the antenna mast on. The antenna works, partly, it just does not run the full cycle. The question is, how do you get to the antenna out to swap the mast out ? ant tip would be great. Thanks Kenny

Coolant Leak by [email protected]
I have a small coolant leak somewhere on the front area of the engine. It seems to collect on the top of the front spring straight down from the alternator. I have looked every where. I recently added a ported polished throttle body and ran a coolant bypass. I noticed the leak while trying to...

ABS unit - 1988 corvette by [email protected]
my mechanic tells me that the ABS unit on my 88 is probably shot -- left front wheel will lock up on hitting the brakes -- we've already fried one set of calipers trying to figure this out. Initial attempts at finding this unit have not been successful -- apparently GM views this to be obsolete;...

C5 Peeling Coating on Glass Roof by Mike Nelson
I have found a partial solution for the classic problems with the transparent glass roof for the C5. These often have their hard, outer coating peel off. The damage is always a stripe on the passenger side running front to back. There are 2 steps: 1.) Wet sand the affected area with 2000 grit...

- Does a 2000 C5 Have Brake Pad Sensors? by Matt Trivisonno
I guess my mechanic was just trying to sell me some brake pads. He said there were no sensors on the C5, which I found hard to believe. The car has 35,000 miles on it, so his recommendation to change the front pads was at least plausable. I see that the front pads are worn down more than the rear...
