converting from swing axle to IRS by
Sam Waller
I have a rail buggy and am thinking about replacing the swing axle transmission with a later model
irs one. I see that they sell 'clips' to weld to the rear torsion bar housing for this conversion,
but I can't find any further information. The swing axle that I have is from a 1966 Ghia.
If I weld...

seat belts by
Terry[_4_]
I recently purchased a 65' VW bug that does not have seat belts. Does
anyone know if this car came with them or if they were just removed ?
I need to know if it did so I can get some for it before Mr Policeman
decides to give me a ticket. I live in South Carolina and the law is
getting ticket happy...

Should air cooled VWs be banned from the Freeways? by
[email protected]
I believe Air-Cooled VeeDubs need to be banned from freeways or any
place where the speed limit is 65 mph and above for that matter.
These cars don't belong on limited access highways. As logic dictates
their engines are too inadequate for high speed use plus they aren't
safe when drivin fast...

1965 Bug disc brakes by
Terry[_4_]
Does anyone know of anybody that offers a front disc brake kit for a
pre-66' bug with the king pin type front end ? I have had no luck
finding one and I am told that the ball joint type front end will not
bolt in to a 65' model bug either. Any clues or help would be
appreciated...........

What's it worth then? by
Adrian[_2_]
Hi Guys,
Owned plenty of aircooled VW's in my teens and early 20's, went through the
GTi, BMW, Porsche phase, eventually went back to my roots and got a bike (TL
1000 Suzuki) which I've had for the past 5 years. Brilliant.
However, things have changed. Child No 2 means I need a car once...

"Rotating" Pistons & Cylinders? by
Mel P.
I'm rebuilding a 40 HP engine. I know to keep the pistons and cylinders for
each position together. But is there any problem in putting them in
different position. For instance, the P&C #4 be reinstalled in the #1
position.

Going Electric by
pico[_2_]
Hey, ya know I am tired of keeping up four ACVWs and I'm thinking of
turning the pristine '72 to electric for in-town use, always under 25
miles per day.
Was wondering if y'all had any impression or experience with these guys:
