Type IV Beetle In The Works: Pistons by Harry Smith
Hello all. I've gotten back to working on my engine project again. The 96mm "AA" pistons/cylinders and Totalseal rings are present and accounted for. I'm glad I took the rings off and looked at them before installation, because one of the pistons was missing one of the oil control rings (the...

Dropped spindles Ghia woes by Beetle Bailey
Hey guys, I put some dropped spindles on my '70 Ghia and love the look but... Unfortunately even though I've put lower profile tires (195/50-15) it still rubs under hard cornering (with body roll). Is there anything I can do short of pulling the front beam and putting adjusters (ugh) or...

Adjustable axle notches by Spike[_1_]
Hi, Do the centre adjusters need to be on matching notches top and bottom axle tube (i.e. in the same position)? When I moved mine, I adjusted them (in unison) from where they had individually settled. Just wanted to check I have it right before moving on to something else.

'71 sb by Xarquath
I've had this '71 super beetle for long about 10 years now. It was driveable for about 2 of those years, and I had a lot of fun with it. It's been sitting for a LOOOONG time though and it's time I finished what I started and get it turned into the car I planned to turn it into. I tore into...

Running Hot. by Mark Healey
I have a '71 Fuel injected Squareback. It's running hot, burning oil, and I can't figure out why. The compression is good. The valves are gaped correctly. The dwell and timing are set. The advance works. The Voltage regulator works fine. And the seal on the Manifold Pressure sensor is...

Rear Engine Brace by [email protected]
Just wanted to know your thoughts on installing a rear engine brace to make up for worn out rear transmission mounts. I don't or I am not ready to pull my engine yet and want to get rid of some slop in the driveline. Or if you have any other ideas that would be awesome. Thanks
