Coolant Temperature Sensor location by stinknugget
I just bought a CTS (Part Number 385146) for my 2000 SL and I don't know where it goes. It's a small piece about 2 inches long and has a two-pin plug at one side. I believe it should thread into the block or radiator somewhere but after looking under the hood for some time, I can't figure it out....

Contaminated MAF sensor L81 2001 by Oppie
I've been trying to find the source of the DTCs P0171, P0174 (Lean mixture on both bank 1 and 2) Found this TSB 02-T-48 Comes down to that the MAF circuit is energized for a short time after key off. Any oil fumes that back up into the manifold can poison the sensor membrane The codes can be...

Vue Maintenance by C. E. White
Well I did some pre-winter maintenance on my 2003 4 cylinder/CVT Vue today. I changed the front brake pads and have to say it was the easiest brake pad replacement I've ever had to do. I purchased replacement GM pads and they came with the proper clips. The original pads were not actually worn...

Intermittent Stalling on '94 SL1 by BxP9
The car will run fine for 7 - 10 days in row and then stall while driving. A couple of chugs and stall. Will not start for 2 minutes and then off I go for another 7 - 10 days. I've replaced the fuel filter and lines, fuel pump, water pump (serpentine belt while I was at it) and battery. EGR...

Passing Gear Ques. by David
New to this group I see we have some highly experienced experts offering advice. I'm looking to purchase a Saturn in the very near future, because of the 35~38mpg rating these cars have established. Over the past 3 weeks or so I have test driven 4 or 5 Saturns ranging in years from 1999 to 2002,...

02 SC1 shakes by Gif J. Peg
My SC1 occasionally shakes when idling after initial warm up. It sounds like the engine is going to stall sometimes. It is happening more frequently. Plugs were replaced about a month ago. The car generally runs fine, but when you come up to a stop at a red light, once in a while the RPMs...

Ion3 - Winter Tires by J
Hey all, I am looking for winter tires for my Ion3 QC 5speed. I've driven two Canadian Winters with the stock 16" rim/tire. It's horrible. I picked up four 15" winter rims, now all I need is the rubber. The tire size for the 15" is 195/60R/15. I've got the following quotes so far: Saturn...

Coolant Temp Sensor by whoareyou4
I searched through old posts but could not figure this one out. How many CTS's does a 96 and 97 Saturn have? I know that my earlier Saturns 1994 & 1995 had two, one for the gauge and the other for the computer. But I can only locate one on both my 96 & 97 and they are in the same location as the...

Problems with my Saturn Vue by Arnold Howard
I love my 2004 Saturn Vue. It is my third Saturn. My first Saturn was a 1990, one of the first made. I was probably the first Saturn owner in Mesquite, Texas. But I've had many problems with my Vue: 1) The suspension recall 2) The wheel bearings failed and had to be replaced under warranty 3) The...

Sunroof spring is broken - Is it possible to replace? by john c
I'm looking for a helpful discussion on how to replace a broken rail spring on a '95 SL2 sunroof. The spring is about 1/4" in diameter and pushes on either side of the sunroof during opening/ closing. Appears that I can remove the sunroof with a torx bit. Is this wise? Can the spring be replaced...

Ion vs. Chevy Cobalt: same car? by [email protected]
I might be in the mrket for a new car next year and two of the reasonable choices in my price range are the Saturn Ion and the Cevrolet Coabalt. (Of course another option is to buy a bigger, safer higher-end vehicle used, but I want to go new if I can; I've fought most of the used car battles over...
