Jacking up a C5 Corvette to change oil? by
Fred
Regarding C5s... how do you guys change your oil? Or more specifically, how
do you jack the car up so you can change your oil? Use ramps or jacks or?
Many commercially obtainable ramps will not work on cars that are very low
to the ground. So... just wondering how most Corvette owners get their...

Buyer Beware and Car Fax by
Marty
Buying locally it seems is just as risky as e-bay if you are as unfamiliar
with a C4 as I was. When I bought mine last month I thought I got a great
deal.
Well now I have to say that it wasn't a great deal but I wasn't ripped off
either. I knew it was going to need paint and interior,I just didn't...

crap! by

just tooling home, bad driver made a left turn into my left front
fender. No escape..the only other choice was a head on with a third
vehicle, so I had to take the hit. No injuries.
Looks like the whole front clip is gone.
Still drivable, she got the ticket,
but my car is broke.

86 brakes locking up on their own by
Raymond Prince
My brakes have slowly engaged three or four times now, on their own. While
driving down the road I begin to notice RPM's increasing and speed
decreasing until it just comes to a stop. The only time I seem to be able to
force it into doing this is after going in reverse into my driveway. It has
done...

76 Difficult Cold Starts by
daveo76
My relatively stock, L48 '76 is getting more difficult to cold start.
I'm probably up to 10 seconds of total cranking time for most
overnight cold starts. It starts fine after sitting all day at work
and it also starts great hot. The choke appears to be working fine.
I've recently replaced the...

Where to sell by
Michael Drysdale
My cousin (no, really) has an '84 he wants to sell. It has 9,000 miles and
won Bloomington Gold with 100 points. Neither of us really knows what the
value of this might be.
Any suggestions on the best place for him to advertise?

Pulley/Bracket Options for '89 L98 Vette Engine by
Drink
Hi All,
I've a '89 350 L98 TPI minus the air compressor. I guess nobody sells an
A/C eliminator idler bracket. Anybody have any experience/suggestions for
brackets/pulleys? I'd like to keep the smog pump for emissions but don't
need A/C. I looked at March Performance Pulleys' website but don't...

75 coupe, damaged left front.
Insurance co is going to fix it. Repair estimates
almost 7K, and they didn't total it!
Shop is experienced in vettes, and showed me some
pics of other vettes they've done. I'm going to pay the shop
the difference to get a better paint (pearl white), and they

Dash Rattle by
Curtis
Hi all,
Newbie to the group.
I have a 2001 6spd with a dash rattle that I can't seem to track down.
It only happens at lower RPMs in any gear. It seems as if it's dead
center in the middle of the dash. All my efforts to track it down
have failed. It doesn't sound like it's under the hood.

H.I.D. Lighting and best forum discussion sites by
Robinson
I have a 2000 Corvette.
Are there any aftermarket headlights available that give off that bluish
color like H.I.D. lights?
Where can I get them?
Also, which are the best forum type discussion sites for Corvettes?
Thanks!

C5 vs. C6 by
04 C5 Black Coupe
When over to my local Vette dealer, and there was a new "Metallic Red" C6
parked in front, so I parked directly behind it.
Finally my own personal opportunity to look at both of the cars and compare
them, inch by inch.
I also met the thrilled new owners, and got to listen to the engine,
exhaust,...

Might become a Corvette Newbie - 1985?? by
Ed Berns
Hi folks,
This is my first posting in this newsgroup as I recently found an original
1985 (85K miles, Light Bronze, 4+3, asking $8K) that seems to be singing to
me. This would be an occasional use vehicle, not primary transportation so I
will be able to deal with the time necessary for required...

Bose Replacement Suggestions. by

I may just replace the Bose system on my '88 convertible (18k miles). I am
frustrated by the supposed premium system that is of such poor quality. Any
suggestions on replacement systems? How about pitfalls to avoid for those
that have De-Bose'd thier Vettes? Has anyone put new speakers in the...
