WTCC Monza by Tony Rickard
It was nice to see Augusto Farfus fend off the BMWs to win the 2nd World Touring Car Championship (WTCC) race at Monza in his 156. Unfortunately he was assaulted by another factory 156 in the first corner of the first race :( but finished 8th. The Brazilian driver is 2nd overall to Yvan Muller in a...

customer service by Steve Byatt
Regular readers may remember me ranting about a cambelt failure on a 156GTA. To cut a long story short, I had suggested that I had had a bad deal, having been charged over £2000 to be told that there was "no damage". Having written in October and failed to make contact with anyone until December,...

Just a reminder by alfistagj
Spring is just around the corner, so a little reminder that now is the time to change the air in the tyres of our Alfa's. Old air results in inferior handling and higher fuel consumption and Alfa recommends air replacement every 20000 km or 12 months, whichever comes sooner. Although it...

The new Alfa Sud by John, UK.
Has anyone seen the news in Auto Express this week on the new Alfa Sud? If, and I'm sure it will, compare with the old Sud, it should be a little stunner. They think, Due out 2008 . Looking at the picture the designers have done a cracking job, although I am wondering what engine they will use?...

I knew I would find something to let it down....this is the first thing! Anyone got any ideas please? I don't want to take it to...

Been away for a while... did Alfa bring out the.... by Robert
Have been out of UK for over a year, now, and when last there tried the nifty sportswagon 6 speed, was told by the dealer that Alfa were bringing out a 450 or 460 bhp engined model.... did this ever happen. And sad oh so sad, no Alfa dealers in the US - well not offcial ones anyway. (Wonders if...

New tyres for 156 - Eagle GSD3 v GSD2 by [email protected]
Hi All, I need to get a new set of rear tyres for my Alfa 156 2.5 V6. Currently It has Avon ZV3s on the front and Eagle F1s (don't know which revision) on the back, which is how it was when I bought it. I need to replace the rears now, and the fronts probably in the summer, so want to get 4...

Alfa 147 1.6 TS leaking power steering fluid by davea
Hi folks I posted a topic a few weeks back because my 147 petrol was making a "diesel" sounding noise when it starts up as well as a whirring noise when I turn the wheel. Thanks for the replies for this. This noise went away when I topped up the power steering fluid but when I checked the level...

Alfa 147 51 plate "diesel" sounding engine by davea
Hi All I've just bought an Alfa 147 51 plate 1.6 TS in January. When I start the engine from cold it makes a loud "diesely" sound which goes away after 5 mins. Also now it's making a louder whirring noise (which seems to be coming from the belts) as well. It gets louder when you turn the steering...

Alfa 156 by Jim
Took delivery of one of the last 156's on Monday. 1.9 JTD 16v multijet. What a car! I really love it. I know it's old now but it's not tainted with the 'chav' image like the German lacklustre cars. And the road holding is just magical. I didn't think I could get this excited any more!
