performance tweaks by R D S
Are there any cheap and cheerful upgrades to eek a bit more performance out of a 2.0 TS 156? Do sport air filters make much of a difference? I notice having it chipped only adds 15bhp. I'm not a speed freak but its a while since i've had any sort of performance and i'm getting a taste for it? Rick

Brera review by Tony Rickard
Motors TV review on the V6 Brera he http://tinyurl.com/g3rdv The worrying bit for the Alfisti: "However, under the bonnet that classic Italian sensation is gone and that is the biggest criticism that can be made about the Brera. The 260 brake horsepower 3.2-litre V6 is GM built, or rather...

I've just had a (thankfully) rare visit to a main dealer by SteveH
...... to order a pair of aircon pipes for the 156. Now, call me old fashioned, but shouldn't the bloke on the parts desk be able to identify which bits you need, rather than the customer having to work it out for themselves? Needless to say, they're only having my money for the parts, I'm...

OK, the idea of a V6 is appealing at the moment..... by SteveH
Right, it comes down to this: I get 28mpg from my Marea on my commute. The company pays a pittance - 20p / mile. However, roughly speaking, given that the first 10 miles each way come out of my pocket, I claim back roughly 70 quid per week..... of which I like to put some away...

156 picked up today, well chuffed by R D S
Picked up my 2.0 TS 156 today and can barely stop grinning. It does everything I want it to do and looks reasonably grown up, well at least till I put a big boot spoiler on it. I would recommend one to anybody. Rick

Oh, ffs! by SteveH
Just when my perfect Alfa pops up on ebay (155 TSpark Super - with the essential climate control) - I have it confirmed that I've passed the online tests and scored an interview for a job with a car. Unfortunately, said interview is the day after the auction ends, meaning I'll have to let it go...

Spare 156 Key needed by Doug
Hi, I have recently broken the spare key for my beloved 156 and after some phone calls to my usual garage (Coupers in St. Albans) found the only place I can get one is from an Alfa main dealer - damn. Having rung Desira in north London I was quoted 120 and a 5 day wait. What planet are these...

New Car ? by DrLargePants
OK, my mileage has dropped massively and a JTD is no longer cost effective for me. Thinking of getting a 156 2.0 JTS, but I'm a bit confused about the trim levels. What's the difference between Veloce 1 & 2 ? Also is it only the Veloces that have the side skirts ? Which ones have the...

Hi all, I bought a fantastic used 2.0 GTV about 6 weeks ago with 65k on the clock. Then, the huge smile that I'd been carrying aorund for the past few weeks was promptly wiped from my face when a conn rod failed and ended up destroying the engine block :( I've found a recon engine, 1200 fully...
