Screeching Noise... by
Gareth Hill
Following up on similar posts...

Re-posted from else whe FS: Alfa 33 by
SteveH

Looks tidy enough - I gave the seller some pointers when he bought it.
If I had the space I'd probably rescue it.....

Hello Gentlemen and Ladies
It's been somtime since I last posted, which I guess tells you that
things have been OK with the lady...that is until the other day.
On three occasions in the past ten days or so, I have experienced a
loss of power under heavy acceleration and a message saying...

Trackday tyres by
SteveH
Well, I was quite happy with my Marangoni Vantos in terms of grip on the
road and very impressed with their wet grip on the track.
However, I've done around 400 road miles and 200 track miles on a set of
4 and 2 are just about illegal (on the nearside), 2 are OK for a
thousand or so road miles...

156 wiper motor. by
Simon Mason
First day of a 2500 mile driving trip around Eastern Europe the wiper motor
burned out. Oddly enough a few days later, I drove past the ALFA dealer in
Wroclaw and called in. Two hours later I was told they couldn't replace it
is it was a RHD and the LHD motors they had won't work. On the last...

MPG by
GT[_1_]
OK I am officially impressed...
I have a 2002 2.0JTS 156. I didn't buy the car for its fuel consumption,
more for the 165 horses, although consumption and power is advertised as
improved over the 2.0TS variant.
After 4 years, I thought I would see what the car could do... 330 miles down
the UK...

Roof Rails for 156 Sportwagons? by
Charlie Money
Anybody got any suggestions for mounting a roofbox on a 156
Sportwagon?
I checked with a dealer who said that roof rails could be retrofitted
(to allow crossbars and box mountings to be attached), but this would
cost close to a grand:
About £450 + VAT in labour (remove headlining etc)
£150 per...

147 Service Reset by
Woody[_4_]
There is no official Alfa Dealership in Cardiff at present. My 147 is out of
warranty And my local garage has serviced many Alfas inc: belt changes on
156 and 145's but not a 147. No problem doing the work, he is an excellent
mechanic, but does anyone know if the Service Mileage can be reset...

166 2.5 Questions by
Catman
Well, it's a big old car. Not had much chance to use it yet, but it's
in condition as described. All the buttons seem to work and it shifts
acceptably well ;)
Couple of bits of trim missing off the back console (not that I'm ever
likely to set in the back) and the cowl for the driver's seat...

Finally..... by
SteveH
After 2 Saturdays of spannering I have the 75 sorted, I think....
Yellowstuff brake pads went in last weekend - they're bloody good. It
actually feels like it has modern brakes now.
New coolant hoses and thermostat went on last weekend.
New radiator and fan switch went in yesterday.
Final job...

156 TS temp woes by
Catman
Or not
Quick straw poll please (quicker is better)
What speed does your 156 usually run at?
Having got ours back I went for a drive today only to be rather alarmed
to see the temp up above 90.
The fan is kicking on and off and the temp is fine at standstill, but it
