1971 Alfa Spider 1750 - Front upper control arm locating washers... by SteveC
Hi Folks, A while ago, I replaced the upper control arms on my '71 Alfa Spider 1750. The arm I replaced incorporates the upper ball joint, but also it has a bushing near the ball joint to connect with the other upper arm (the locating arm?) which secures things towards the front of...

Seasonal question ! What anti-freeze ? by Emjay
Hello I could do with finding out if there is any special anti-freeze for my 164 2l TS, as many years ago, my Alfetta sprung a leak in it's cylinder head which the dealer put down to incorrect anti-freeze for an aluminium block. Is this still the case these days, or is all anti-freeze suitable...

Tyres again by Tony Rickard
Having had to change all four tyres on my 156 V6 I engaged in a few conversations with tyre sellers. This view that rear tyres should be better than fronts on FWDs really seems to have taken hold in the instructions coming from the manufacturers. One seller tried to persuade me to have harder...

Very shy Alfa - won't open up to anyone... by Steve W
I've had my Alpha 156 v6 for 4 years now (98 model). We've been through all the usual problems - electrics, tyre shredding and brake disk chomping without bearing each other any (apparent) malice. However, tonight after getting home from work, I got out of the car, closed the door and opened the...

HELP - GTV TS Injection Light by Andy Wilson
On my the GTV 2ltr TS the injection light has just come on whilst driving, the handbook just says drive to an Alfa agent. What are the normal reasons for this light to come on and what can I do myself, other than drive to an Alfa garage? All help appreciated. Andy Wilson

Alfa 156 2.0 TS 1999 by Chenan
The garage is advising me about changing the cambelt after 60,000 km. I disagree because the maintenance manual talks about 120,000 km, but they insist it is because the car is 5 years old, not because the km. What do you think? Fernando Spain.

Ooops..... by SteveH
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=9834&item=45062 57871&rd=1 The seller suggests it's an easy repair. I'd suggest it's terminally bent. -- Steve H 'You're not a real petrolhead unless you've owned an Alfa Romeo' http://www.italiancar.co.uk - Honda VFR800 - MZ ETZ300

MOT Fail :-( by SteveH
For the 155, that is. Corrosion has made a small hole in the driver's side wheel arch. Brake bias valve seized. Headlamp aim low. (Why they didn't use the electric adjuster on the dash, I don't know) Broken Exhaust Rubber. I'm more than slightly dubious about all of the above, mainly because the...

Hi all, I used to have a 156 and unfortunately had to sell it due to lack of cash :-( However I am now in a slightly better position and am looking at the possibilities of returning Alfa. Being on a limited budget I was wondering what the general opinion of the 145 Cloverleaf is with regard to...
