12-Disc CD Player Jammed? by aRKay[_2_]
My 2001 6-Speed Coupe has a factor 12-Disc CD player that was working perfect this morning (playing Darude) and it stopped at the end of the disc and now will not play any of the CD's. I messed with all dash controls and cannot seem to wake it up. Went to he rear and opened the box. It made...

Tip: How to fixed Jammed CD tray by aRKay[_2_]
Last weekend the 12-disc CD tray got stuck in the Delco CD player in the hatch. The CDs would not play, showed Err on the display and I could not get the tray to eject by opening the sliding door. I remembered a tip from another C5 owner and it worked. The tip is pretty simple..... just remove...

Temp Light by aRKay[_2_]
I have a 2001 C5 Coupe and we are having hard time seeing the dim AC display that shows temp. I can turn up the dash lights to max and the display is still hard to see in the daylight. Is there a lamp and can it be replaced?

Old Topic - Left Front Turn Signal by aRKay[_3_]
My 2001 C5 had the fast flashing turn signal indicator doing it thing telling me the lamp may be bad. I have learned how to change the lamp but this one gets weird. I pulled the lamp socket from the case and it started flashing. Nothing wrong with the lamp. Put it back in place and close...

Tip on C5 Hard to Start by aRKay[_4_]
I was having some starting issues with my 2001 C5 Coupe. I would turn the key and there would be a long delay before the starter engaged. On one trip to the store it was dead and nothing happened for a long time. I recalled a starting issue a few years ago when it was still under warranty and...

ABS and Anti Sked Warnings by aRKay[_4_]
While doing nothing special the ABS and Anti Sked warnings came on the DIC in my 2001 C5 Coupe. I tried to clear then using the RESET and that did not work. I took it to the dealer and they hooked up the Tech II tool (or whatever it is called) and it the LF Door code came up saying the left...

Starting Issue with 2001 C5 by aRKay[_4_]
I have a starting issue with my 2001 C5. The battery is good and the starter has been replaced. When I turn the key to start, there has been a few seconds delay until the starter kicks over. I think this is to allow time to check and cut off lights etc to give max cranking amps to the starter....

C5 temp by aRKay[_4_]
Just checking to see what is normal temp for a C5 in 90-deg WX in stop and go traffic and on highway? The reason for asking mine is running about 200 normal but goes up to 220 is stop and go traffic. What is too hot?

Goodyear Eagles need to be replaced and Discount Tire suggested the Michelin Pilot A/S run flats for my C5. Anybody tried them? The Goodyear Eagles are really noisy.

How You Know Your C5 is OLD by aRKay[_4_]
Look at the pump icon on the fuel gage and notice which side the hose is attached. Mine shows the hose on the right but the gas cap in on the left in C5. I wonder when GM updated the icon to show the correct locations of the gas cap?

Expensive Repair in Process by aRKay[_4_]
After two dead batteries on my 2001 Coupe it was taken to the dealer on a flat bed truck. The first report is BCM (Body Control Module) is drawing 4 amp and that is what is killing the batteries. The big unknown at the dealership is to find and understand what circuit is shorted. Just...

Example of Good GM Design :-( by aRKay[_4_]
The battery in my 2001 C5 died and that's okay as it was almost 3 years old. I had a heck of a time removing the side terminals because GM left little or no space to remove side terminals. My only small 8 mm open end wrench slipped out of my hand and dropped in slot in the bottom of the...

Kudos to GM Engineering for Keyfob by aRKay[_4_]
My hats off to the GM team that designed the Corvette C5 Keyfob. My wife just ran mine through the washer and dryer. I heard it clanking around and she could have cared less. The noise was driving me crazy so I checked and I now have a very clean keyfob and keys. The best part is it still turns...

C5 Oil Pressure Sensor by aRKay[_4_]
The Oil Pressure on my 01 C5 reads full-scale 80 PSI with the key ON without the engine running and 130 on the DIC. I suspect a bad sensor and wonder how difficult it is to change? Is there another way to check that the engine is okay? The oil and cooling temps are running normal and...
