83 CJ vs. 75 Land Cruiser by Muuurgh
Which would you want? I'm in the market to buy a 4x4, I just don't know which. I need the pros and cons of both. But the Land Cruiser and the CJ are definately my style. -Craig

Isuzu Trooper conversion to LPG by Peter
I'm considering converting Trooper 98 (3.5L V6 petrol engine) to run on liquified propane gas (natural gas or whatever it's called). Any feedback/experience on this - good or bad? I reckon it should pay for itself in a year at most. TIA, Peter

Mounting PIAA 1500 lights on 1999 Suburban by kkmike
Where can I mount PIAA 1500 driving lights on my 1999 Suburban? There is no air dam like on the 2000 and later models. I really don't want to drill holes in the bumper - my experience is rust when breaking the chrome seal. I suppose I could by a small brush bar, but I'd rather have them...

Auto Trans Makes Loud Bang, No Drive in Any Gear by HonkyTonk Man
Question about my chevy turbo tranny problem: My chevy 4x4's turbo 350 went out with a bang! No warnings like slippage or any of that. It has a shift kit, and when I normally get 2nd gear rubber on a power shift, this time it gave a loud bang and nothing. Not a gear available, includeing...

buckled tailgate - pics by willie
Ok, the fix as follows, get a piece of angle iron, the length of the tailgate. Drill and mount with steel screws (as large as looks good) and screw it on. This will pull it back into shape AND leave it stronger for the future. I have used this method many times. Cheers Willie "Mr Roper"...

For Isuzu Drivers.... by Matt
Hey guys I am new to the group, but I wanted to drop a line to all the Isuzu Drivers out there. Recently I had trouble finding several parts for my Amigo at a decent price. I ran across these guys here locally who have deals that are too good to pass up. They are the best I have seen by far... ...

90 4runner clutch & master/slave cylinders by hello
Hi, I have a 90 4runner 6cyl. My clutch is slipping like crazy, it has been getting worse and worse. I've read through some posts that suggest it may just be my hydraulic systems needs a once-over. Does this sounds possible? I haven't gotten underneath my 4runner to check out the system yet, would...

clutch royally f-ed by James
I drive a 97 Pathfinder SE with 4by and manual tranny. Recently, the clutch pedal has stopped working. If the car is in gear, it is hard to get out of gear. If it is out of gear, it is nearly impossible to get into gear. It is as if the clutch pedal is not dis-engaging all the way (or at all...

Global Warming - a Liberal Scam?, (was Huge study about safetycanbemisinterpreted by SUV drivers) by DBurch7672
To me it's not a matter of "feeling threatened" by some gay people down the street being married or not. The social order we maintain in our society is based on our values. There are those whose values approach moral anarchy (anything goes). I'd prefer those people were in the minority and...

Global Warming - a Liberal Scam?, (was Huge study about safety canbe misinterpreted by SUV drivers) by DBurch7672
You're right. There's supposed to be caring and concern behind it, ideally love. None of which precludes gays. BUT there is ALSO the issue of REPRODUCTION, (which ANY scientist can tell you is the NATURAL purpose of sex!), which PRECLUDES gays!

Consumer Advocacy Organization Takes Aim at Auto Repair Shop Rip-offs. Please Help! by Kenneth Brotman
We're all finding it increasingly difficult to find a quality auto repair shop. Think of how often you have had a problem with an auto repair shop. I spent fourteen years trying to clean up the auto repair industry from the inside. I even owned a big auto repair shop for three and a half years. ...

Cost of installing an alternator by arfam4
Hi! My son has a 1997 Ford 4x2 Supercab. He had problem with alternator. He took it to a Ford dealer who charged $430.00 for installing a new alternator. Cost of Alternator was $200 dollars. Rest was labor cost plus tax. Does the charge seems excessive to you? With thanks in advance.
