06 auto trans question by
Bill & Gail
Lately I think I have noticed something a little different in the behaviour
of the 5 speed auto transmission in my 06 Mustang. (21,000 miles)
If I slow down at city speeds for a corner, roundabout or a yield etc. and
then apply the gas to accelerate moderately again, the engine rev's as if it...

Recommend Cheap Tires for 98 GT? by
Dave J
I've had my 98 GT Convertible since it was new, and in that time, I've
worn down a lot of Z-rated, low-profile, sticky tires. It was good
fun, but now I'm a family man and not as flush with the free cash as I
once was, and the Mustang is more of an occasional commute and grocery
getter, and I just...

ADVICE NEEDED: Removing Inner Tie Rod Ends - TWO QUESTIONS by
EADGBE
I am going to start replacing the worn tie rod ends (inner and outer)
and ball joints in my 1996 Mustang GT.
I have heard that the inner tie rod ends that originally came with my
car are screwed onto the ends of the steering rack and then held in
place by a small pin.
How do I remove this pin? ...

96 GT 4.6 Will not Start by
Stepford
I have a 1996 Mustang GT 4.6 I went out to run some errands today and
it would not start. I just drove it earlier with no problems. It
cranks over but will not start (like its out of gas)
My mechanic stopped by and took a look at it. He says it might be the
fuel pump or maybe a relay, he asked me...

Sorry The Cobra's Not For Sale by
[email protected]
What an odd day. I drive my car back and forth to work everyday. I
also drive it occasionally on the weekends. On average it racks up
about 250-300 miles a week. But I never notice anyone looking and/or
pointing at my car, it's rare I hear anyone tell me "nice car", and
even rarer that anyone...

EADGBE
It is time for me to renew the steering components on my 1996 Mustang
GT (over 120,000 miles).
I have purchased a set of new TRW inner tie rod ends, and I have
rented the proper inner tie rod long socket tool that is needed to
remove and install these parts.
However, I won't be able to use this...

2K GT single cylinder misfire mystery by
Mark G7#9
I had an OBDII code check and it told me that cylinder#5 has been
misfiring. Since I never changed the plugs (after 100K miles), I
changed all 8, and the problem went away for a few weeks. Now, the
same cylinder is misfiring again.
What I also noticed is that when the car is in the garage for...

Using auto trans as brake assist? by
Bill & Gail
I was recently driving with a relative in their Mustang (6) with an
automatic transmission.
They were "shifting down" to decelerate for stop signs, curves, normal
traffic etc. (Someone told them it saves the brakes)
Is this wise?
Is it necessary?

Paging Michael Johnson by
Big Al[_3_]
Do you have any links to dyno curves for the modded Cobra/Lightning engines?
Looking for HP and torque and general "under the curve" specs. Nothing too
outrageous, just the guy's that change injectors and do easy mods.

Shaker Hood Scoop Kit for 2006 V6 Mustang by
C. E. White[_1_]
For some reason my Son is determined to install a Shaker Hood Scoop
System on his 2006 Mustang V6. I've seen two systems. One from Classis
Design Concepts used the OE hood after cutting a hole in the hood for
the scoop. The other is from Aeroform and includes a replacement
fiberglass hood. I'd...

caliper piston question by
wowzer
I have a 1994 Mustang with a V-6. The brakes get a slight shimmy or pulse
every now and again and I was told by the dealer it was a stuck piston in
one of the front calipers. I was trying to decide between replacing the
front calipers, replacing just the one that is sticking or replacing the...
